[livejournal.com profile] em_meredith reminds us all there's a showing of "X-MEN" on tonight (7c for me) on FX. However, after "X-Men" there's going to be a special about Hellboy called Investigative Journal Presents the B.P.R.D. Declassified. "X-Men" and then a "Hellboy" special. It's geek night tonight!

I'm going to be an ass and reply after myself, but that "special" was total suck. They didn't even show a damn trailer in the 30 minutes the show was on. They tried to play it off as one of those morbid *in search of the truth* documentaries you can catch on the History Channel or A&E. ::snooze:: Where's Hellboy? Abe Sapien? Ass-kicking tidbits? Bah!!

They did show a very nice HB trailer towards the end of "X-Men". Of course, leave it to "X-Men" to always deliver the goods. I don't even know how many times I've seen it. I know I'm in good geeky company, but even I get embarrassed at times. I can literally quote the whole damn movie. The adrenaline rush when Wolvie pops those claws the first time. The first W/R scene to the last. Magneto. Professor X. Chess. *le sigh* Hard to imagine my bro practically had to drag me to the movie the first time I saw it. Now I'm a bigger X-Men nerd than he is.

I don't get that channel, but I've been trying to watch the DVD so as to get some inspiration going.

Now for a question: Current music: "Logan and Rogue" - X-MEN sdtk ? Did you do that one?

I wish, but I'm no where near that talented. The song is the last one on the "X-Men" soundtrack. (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00004U0Q3/qid=1080019246/sr=2-1/ref=sr_2_1/103-7834010-1849406) Prettiest song on it imo, but then I'm ridiculously biased. The soundtrack was composed by Michael Kamen.

You haven't watched it all the way through yet? FOR SHAME! ;)

Oh, okay. I thought it was a collection of songs that you related to W/R. And if it is the song I think it is (the scene at the Statue), it really is a beautiful song. Biased? Sure, me too. But it's a real passionate music that one wouldn't expect to hear in the kind of movie.

I mean, watch it for the... 10th time? I have no idea. But it's kind of fading away. Can't let that happen, no sir.

The Jean theme on the "X2" sdtk is pretty like that too. It's nice they have the liberty to mix things up with the music a little bit in the "X-Men" movies. It's not just back-to-back techno or whatnot.

Total random, out-of-no-where question Lorena, but how well did the movies do in Mexico? Really well? How was it translated? Were they calling Wolverine "Lobezno" and Rogue "Pícara", etc?

Have you ever tried watching 1.5 in Spanish? heeee The dub is meh. The part when Wolverine is having the nightmare and Rogue comes in trying to wake him. The groaning during the nightmare is questionable (more orgasmic imo). His "roar" sounds more like a belch.

I actually couldn't say how well the first movie did, since (because it's not usually the kinds of movies I like) I didn't even know about it until I accidentally watched it on tv 2 years later. But the second one was a big hit.

I just watched the truck-after-the-bar scene, and Rogue's still 'Rogue' as is Wolverine in the subtitled version, yet in dubbed, he is 'Glotón' (or 'glutton', which until now I didn't know is the same as wolverine) which is weird, since they used to show this movie at FOX in both spanish and english with subtitles, where R was 'Pícara' and W was 'Guepardo'.

I'm gonna have to watch that stabbing scene dubbed, but I'm not responsible about the faces I might make. *g*
