....So says the Flexon ad of my particular model of glasses. Do they "defy nature"? Hardly. I got them because I'm not exactly the most graceful person in the world and these wire frames (yeah, I know) were supposedly able to resist a lot of abuse ... I've had them for about seven months and the bridge snapped like a little twig today. Bu-bye $240. ::tries not to toss desk chair out the window relieving frustrations:: I think I've had it with wire frames. Maybe it's about time I went down the trendier road with the dark, plastic frames?

Why haven't I gotten Lasic surgery yet? Oh yeah. Because I'm a chickenshit. I'll have to ask myself that question again after I drop a few hundred more dollars on supposedly indestructible, super-flexible frames.

I asked my question for *years*, after spending *years* on contact lenses (plus the obligatory frame ones) and all the solutions that go with them. Oh, yeah, and the medical consults and treatments every year because my eyes insisted on being too sensitive to the chemicals.

I'm not giving anyone publicity here (anyone in particular, that is) but you so should consider the Lasic surgery. I became such a happy camper after that. Really, just being able to go to sleep without having to take your glasses off, and waking up and seeing everything around you without having to put them on, is so worth it. *g*

Unless, of course, you don't have that problem since I was way too myopic, heh.

When this question came up the last time I wrecked my glasses, my optician used the phrase "skin a cat." I'm with you.

*looks at trifocals*

Ugh, I bounced right passed the point of having that surgery, right into trifocals. I can't see at all now...well, I can...but you get the idea.

And I have kids who can find all sorts of ways to destroy "indestructible" frames and lenses.

What am I saying? I don't know exactly, except that I now buy glasses at Walmart. Cheap frames that last about as long as the higher priced designer models.

I hate glasses...with a passion.

*counts on her fingers how many years she's worn glasses*

"Dang it, I don't have enough..."

*starts counting toes* ^_________^

My POV: like hell no laser is coming near me, not yet anyways. Oh wait, I've never worn contacts before and succumbed to the trendy dark plastic frames myelf. Heh, my previous specs made me look like Professor Trelawney's niece or something. ;)
