"defy laws of nature"
Oct. 13th, 2004 07:21 pm....So says the Flexon ad of my particular model of glasses. Do they "defy nature"? Hardly. I got them because I'm not exactly the most graceful person in the world and these wire frames (yeah, I know) were supposedly able to resist a lot of abuse ... I've had them for about seven months and the bridge snapped like a little twig today. Bu-bye $240. ::tries not to toss desk chair out the window relieving frustrations:: I think I've had it with wire frames. Maybe it's about time I went down the trendier road with the dark, plastic frames?
Why haven't I gotten Lasic surgery yet? Oh yeah. Because I'm a chickenshit. I'll have to ask myself that question again after I drop a few hundred more dollars on supposedly indestructible, super-flexible frames.

Date: 2004-10-14 04:11 am (UTC)I asked my question for *years*, after spending *years* on contact lenses (plus the obligatory frame ones) and all the solutions that go with them. Oh, yeah, and the medical consults and treatments every year because my eyes insisted on being too sensitive to the chemicals.
I'm not giving anyone publicity here (anyone in particular, that is) but you so should consider the Lasic surgery. I became such a happy camper after that. Really, just being able to go to sleep without having to take your glasses off, and waking up and seeing everything around you without having to put them on, is so worth it. *g*
Unless, of course, you don't have that problem since I was way too myopic, heh.

Date: 2004-10-23 06:41 am (UTC)Or forgetting to take them off at all... which contributed to why I went to the optometrist to renew my RX this morning. Meh.
I can foresee the benefits of Lasic... I just need to get over that whole chickenshit / fear-of-potential-blindness thing(s).
btw, Are you enjoying the Montreal autumn? ;)
