This fixation with DD:HN has made me a decade younger. Next thing you know I'll be carded in the next round of bar-hopping (wishful thinking).

Teen Vogue scans graciously provided by [livejournal.com profile] ur_favoritegirl on [livejournal.com profile] _diegoluna.

Such informative folks we have on LJ. I wouldn't know these things otherwise (I can honestly say, I don't look up Teen Vogue very often. I don't look up Vogue very often, period... and I only look at Vanity Fair for the pretty pictures).

As cheesy as anyone can see DD:HN is, y'all gotta admit, these two look fab together. Last I heard, they were dating, but then Romola didn't attend the DD:HN L.A. premiere, so no clue on their current status.

Random Diego update, but one of his movies, Todo el poder, is going to be on Univision tomorrow at 8:00 CT. Obviously, this is only relevant to those who can speak Spanish and want to watch a good movie and/or are fanatical Diego fans, language barrier be damned. Of course, pretty needs no translation. ;)

It's almost like Gael has the innocence, but Diego - per his boyishness - has all the appearance of it.

You know, I actually see them completely opposite of this. Maybe I haven't seen enough of Diego's pictures from Dirty Dancing, but when I see him, I see a pretty boy. And I hate to say this, but I just can't get that image of him as a pretty chubby boy. I know, it's been *years*, but it's still there.

And Gael.... ahhhh. He's got that dirty, rebel look. And it might actually be the fact that in most of his movies he *does* look dirty. But now that you mention it, "El Crimen del Padre Amaro" did change my perspective on him. Saw a beautiful vulnerability that made him even more appealing to me. But I still like him dirty, heh.

heee on Chubby!Diego. I did watch "El premio mayor", but I don't remember most of it. I think that's a good thing. I'm also glad I didn't follow my friends advise when she suggested I watch "El abuelo y yo". I think it re-ran recently on Univision.

Speaking of kids (and this is totally random), I've seen early pics of Gael. I think everyone knew then he'd grow up to be hot. He was a beautiful little kid with big green eyes.

And Gael.... ahhhh. He's got that dirty, rebel look.

*sighs* Word to that. Those Levi's "French Dictionary" ads. Mischievous!Gael. Grungy!Gael. Adorable!Gael. Laughing!Gael. Romantic!Gael. Wet!Gael... all in about 3 minutes. Yeah. That had to sell some jeans.

Since Gael does look so very good grungy... I'm very interested in seeing "Mala educación", where he doesn't look grungy at all. Drag!Gael? I'm so there (even if it's more serious than previous Almodovar movies and the chicas aren't in it).

"El Crimen del Padre Amaro" did change my perspective on him. Saw a beautiful vulnerability that made him even more appealing to me.

Also, the characters he plays... it's like the crap that happens to them, they brought upon themselves in most cases. His character in "Amores perros"? ECdPA? Yet you still can feel sorry for them. I'm not a big fan of ECdPA in general, but I cry at that part at the end after they leave the clinic. Gael just brings it out of me. He cries. I cry.
