Us and Them
And after all we're only ordinary men
Me and you
God only knows it's not what we would choose to do
Forward he cried from the rear
And the front rank died
The General sat, and the lines on the map
Moved from side to side

5x16: Dark Side of the Moon (aka, Your Whole Life Flashes Before Your Eyes): PINK FLOYD FINALLY YAY (hence the dl I included above)!!! Chad Lindberg (aka, Ash) is supposed to guest star in this one. Either they're all going to Heaven or someone is dying or has near-death experience maybe.... or gets really, really high?

5x17: Your Time is Gonna Come: Another Zepp title. A song about a guy fed up with his cheating lover. Sam finally throw in the towel with Dean who can't stop making sex-eyes at Cas? ;) Srsly tho, Dean leaves Sam possibly? This could be the one Sam uses his powers (and Dean is pissed off about it) according to Kristen's spoilers. I could believe that finally pushes Dean to the point he's the one who finally leaves Sam. Before, it's always been Sam the one to leave.

Oh yes, Dean is very much in the grand heroic tradition. I'm almost surprised they never worked in the Nephilim, as Genesis 6 [could be interpreted to] allude to them being "the men of renown, the great heroes of the ages".

:flails: :glomps you: YAY FINALLY ANOTHER BL FAN!!!!! :D :D :D I thought Dean would be fucking PERFECT in the main role since I first heard of it, even before playing it! The plot is great, tho the game's much too short. The whole Black Tears aspect, I was all "OMG IT'S LIKE THE WHOLE DEMON BLOOD THING!!!" Plus Ophelia is SO Sam's type. Sam/Dean is my OTP, but when you have ladies as awesome as Ophelia and Lita (I LOVE HER HALBERD!) - that's my het OTPs of PURE FACEMELTING AWESOMENESS.

My idea had Sam and Dean being transported to the World of Metal, essentially taking on Eddie's role. I'm setting it about mid-S4, so no Cas. Plus you know how I think that whole Lucifer thing is BS. Dean's having lots of fun hacking up demons with the axe (that mental image was a big motivator for me! XD), Sam is a little more emo about it, he's still kinda preoccupied with Lilith. He and Ophelia bond about being freaks and all that. Dean goes all demon-y with the wings (Demon!Dean is one of my most favoritest things in the world, so naturally I had to include that aspect).

Plot stuff happens, and Sam ends up drowned in his own emo along with Ophelia. There's exposition and more plot stuff, and the Zaulia (who'd like to mate with Dean - obviously, lol!) and METAL. Dean and Ironheade kills zombies (I'm assuming the Drowning Doom are essentially that), dramatic exposition is dramatic, AWESOME BATTLES, and Dean kills Doviculus and rescues Sam and Ophelia. Then there's some time-space fiddling (MAGIC!), and Dean, Sam, Ophelia and Lita travel back to the "normal" world to teach those douchebag angels and bothersome demons a few things. ;) And Dean kills Ruby with extreme prejudice (and lots of gooooore! XD). The angels are all WTF, Lilith is soon X.X (i.e. very DEAD). Oh, and they send Bobby a beer tree.

Okay, it's mostly a bunch of ideas, but I know there's a fascinating ploit in there. I just need to figure out how to work in SPN-based stuff into the World of Metal. Hell will get more mention, certainly. Heh, looks like I really ran away with the idea, hope you don't mind me spamming your post with metal squee. XP

To be totally honest, I wouldn't be shocked they make their way into SPN eventually. Hell, we've already got a demon/human hybrid, what's to say Kripke might not do angel/human? Jesse's existence may even indicate it's inevitable, considering how much Kripke loves his mirroring.

:flails: :glomps you: YAY FINALLY ANOTHER BL FAN!!!!! :D :D :D

So the game isn't perfection and it's short, but COME ON PPL! It's fun! What more do you need from a game?? Then again, I would have been peachy had it had some kind of plot and thus upgrade on "Heavy Metal" (though I love it anyway even minus a plot, lol) but still retained some of the same visuals, which it did in both counts.

Plus Ophelia is SO Sam's type.

She's also a whole lot more interesting than some of Sam's womens. I liked Jessica a lot, but her being outside of the supernatural world, she was never going to be the most ideal match for Sam.

Sam/Dean is my OTP, but when you have ladies as awesome as Ophelia and Lita

Which there won't be in SPN. *sighs* Damn you Kripke and your fail at writing epic female characters (or if there are any, Kripke inexplicably doesn't or can't ship them with Sam or Dean)!

My idea had Sam and Dean being transported to the World of Metal, essentially taking on Eddie's role. I'm setting it about mid-S4, so no Cas.

Did you mean mid-S3? As I recall, Cas was in mid-S4 (though I tend to pretend 4.09/4.10 didn't happen at all)? LOL

Though SRSLY DUDE, how can you not picture Cas in that world with DeanSam, despite your OTPness? :P You know alt BL-verse Cas wouldn't be looking like the holy tax accountant, but probably more like this (http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/?rhtml=y).

Dean goes all demon-y with the wings (Demon!Dean is one of my most favoritest things in the world, so naturally I had to include that aspect).

For quite some time before S4, I was convinced Dean was actually Lucifer. So I say let him go all cover of Dio's "Holy Diver" album in BL-verse! XD

Oh, and they send Bobby a beer tree.

BWAHAHAHA!!! This is canon in my head now, you realize this.

I just need to figure out how to work in SPN-based stuff into the World of Metal.

Perhaps Gabriel goes mad (or something - upgraded!Lucifer, perhaps? Your version of Lu need not be fail - drives him mad) and turns the midwest into World of Metal, Dean and Sam (and Cas :P) are questing to find a cure, but of course, they're the World of Metal-versions of themselves??

Heh, looks like I really ran away with the idea, hope you don't mind me spamming your post with metal squee. XP

Dude, BL/Metal with SPN fusion isn't "spamming", it's reveling in face-melting metal glory! XD

I do mean S4 - Cas is around, but he's still quite firmly with the angels then. It's not *exactly* mid-season, I think more around 4.14 or 4.15. Plus I don't want to deal with any potential crises of faith he may have, tho I'm pondering that the worlds are linked more closely than he'd think. Still, I think he'd be all O.o most of the time and kinda useless. And figuring out the plot is hard enough w/o accounting for Cas too.

The beer tree/shrubberies were one of my favorite bits of world building in BL. Just brilliant. I figured after cleaning up the mess in the regualr world, they'd go back to live in the Brutal world, and send Bobby a beer tree as a parting gift. XD

As for combining the worlds - I was thinking more a direct transdimensional travel thing, as in the game. (Admittedly, virtualpersonal's fic "Dragonspell" is informing my ideas a bit). World collsion/intersection would be interesting, it reminds me of certain sci-fi books. But I just really the like the idea that Sam and Dean find a place where they can live in relative peace, with no angels or smoke-demons to bother them.

Except Cas was always an oddity, even back then, firmly amongst his angel brethren. He'd already been telling execution-worthy suprsekrits to Dean in the Halloween ep. Cas was basically like the mysterious guy in the black robe, always hiding in the shadows and doling out tidbits of cryptic but useful information, until you realize what he is. Except... not so much in the shadows and replace black robe with cheap trenchcoat. BUT STILL it's the same thing! If this were "Halo", Cas would basically be Arbiter. The former-bad-guy who turned against his own to help the hero for the greater good, which makes him sort of awesome.

Don't mind me though, I'm just being pragmatic. ;D And I've always loved the Arbiter type. The dude who ditches everything he knows because he knows his own are in the wrong and has big enough brass ones to do the right thing.

Still, I think he'd be all O.o most of the time and kinda useless.

Really? In my head, him being uber supernatural creature and occasionally full of heavenly wrath and all, he actually fits in that world better than Dean or Sam do. Then again, maybe I've just been watching one too many Darksiders (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/story-trailer-darksiders/49408) promos. Look at those bad ass angels! *FLAILS*

I figured after cleaning up the mess in the regualr world, they'd go back to live in the Brutal world, and send Bobby a beer tree as a parting gift. XD

I could see that more than I could the white-picket-fence fantasies Dean used to have of Carmen c/o DALDOM. I just never saw Dean fitting in that sort of life, hence why his DALDOM fantasy was so depressingly fantastical, almost farcical. You can really see that difference between Dean's sort of normal vs. Sam's normal in FTBYAM. Sam can actually function in the real world. But Dean? Not so much. Dean's "normal" setting is vampire blood sprayed all over his face.

As for combining the worlds - I was thinking more a direct transdimensional travel thing, as in the game.

That could certainly work too. XD

with no angels or smoke-demons to bother them.

They just have actual red-skinned, horned, fiery demons (and witches and cultists and... hair bands) bothering them? LOL

Aye, I suppose you're right about Cas. But he might be a little beyond my moderate writerly scope - I have to figure out Ophelia and Lita based on the bits of dialogue we get, in addition to writing Sam and Dean. What Cas would do I think depends on what kind of God there's supposed to be, and as I'd be very influenced by my own personal beliefs...Cas would likely be somewhat broken when faced with the truth. I foresee a whole theological mess that I don't really want to deal with. But perhaps I'm being anthropocentric, and Cas is less literal/Biblically minded, and more hippie-like and cosmic. I didn't really get that sense from the other angels tho, and as I presume Cas is in the lowest order, I doubt he'd be much different. In short: addressing all this theological stuff gets in the way of teh awesome. Plus, Sam's emo is enough to handle. XP

Dean's "normal" setting is vampire blood sprayed all over his face. lol, or demon blood. Remember the final battle in BL? DECAPITAAATTTIIIOOOOOOONNNNN!!! XD Fits Dean to a tee. Earth-normal doesn't work for them. Sam can fit in, though he doesn't truly belong either. But a place of warriors and battles and shit, well, I think they'd do quite well. :) Sam and Dean can feel they really made a difference there.

I'm probably gonna use John's storage locker as a plot device (lol, again). Who knows what he has in there? Maybe he was a secret metalhead back in the '70s and has some records stashed away. Like one with an all black cover and the simple name "Brutal Legend". ;) Oh, young!John looks sweet, but those are the ones to watch out for! (Example: Lance Sweets in the show "Bones". Brilliant wunderkind, but went through a death metal phase in his teens. He still has the CDs).

They just have actual red-skinned, horned, fiery demons (and witches and cultists and... hair bands) bothering them lol, yeah. Those are MUCH easier to deal with. No need to worry about the poor host or keeping things from polite society. Just hack/slash/stab/burn/etc away! LOLOLOL, I can't help thinking Dean would be more horrified by the glam metal. Demons and zombies are nothing new, but THAT...with the glitter, and the zebra stripes and the hair Dean would be all OH GOD FUCK NO! XD And I'm sure Dean would want to set a lot of the eastern landmass on fire, to get rid of the zombies/restless spirits of the Black Tear Rebellion and that FUCKING CREEPY WRAITH TREE.

And as an aside: I really like the role of women in the game. The Razor Girls are great (OMG their hair is fantastic!), Lita and Ophelia are both so kickass, and there's that whole momument to the ladies by the Razor boar fields. And the Zaulia, can't forget them. Huge fire-breathing cat-beast>>>>polar bear.
