Here I am trying to take a nap but can't. And I'm cranky thanks to a sore back (stupid snow-shoveling). Yes, another SPN post. SHOCKING!

I noticed Buddy TV has made a year round-up list and included Future!Castiel as "Most Laid Back Male" of '09.

I tend not to give two straws about Buddy TV apart from the occasional spoiler as they seem determined to make Kristin dos Santos look like a Nobel Laureate, but I think it's hilarious how anyone could find anything pleasant about future!Cas, apart from shallow pretty factor (which tends to be Cas and Misha usually). No srsly. Nothing more awesome and not depressing at all about Nietzsche's Last Man put in praxis. That's Buddy TV's idea of "laid back"? o.O Like they somehow entirely missed (or worse, didn't miss) the whole theme, the whole point, of decadence to death of Future!Cas whose lost any shred of hope?

I know I know, dumb to be all bewildered since Buddy TV likely thinks "Nietzsche" is some new brand name sitting between Goldschläger and Jägermeister, but yeah, that was my sad moment of lolarity. Now excuse me while I go search for a hot water bottle and Aleve.

Dude, he was like Nicolas Cage's character in "Leaving Las Vegas", but with more vacant smiling and empty, almost hysterical laughter. Nihilism with a side of batfudge nuts. All the sex just made it more skeevy. Like the hooker whose seen too much but instead self-medicates the pain away. *cringes*

ETA. About the self-medicating hooker, but the ep just before it we have Dean comparing those of absent fathers = prostitutes. Then the very next ep we see a Cas barely coping by way of drugs and sex. So, the world is either full of Reavers, Apocalypse Now or nihilistic, junkie hookers. Fabulous.
