Presuming there's a shred of truth to what the rags have been saying about there being competitiveness and cattiness between Donna, Martha and Rose when they show up together? If that's the case, then I'd assume Donna and Martha DON'T get on very well when they first meet in the Sontaran episodes? Of course, assuming they meet at all in those eps (the cast stills from the Sontaran eps would suggest they do). Granted, logic and Rusty's continuity (or Rusty's willingness to forgo any/all logic cuz catty, petty women >>> logic in the pathetically stereotypical aspects of some of his drama. MEH!) never really got along, but if Donna and Martha have already met, you'd think they'd have already dealt with any of that unfortunate inevitable cattiness of Rusty's womenfolk in those Sontaran eps? Also after having dealt with such a bad, dangerous situation together such as Sontarans, would have even developed some kind of bond or camaraderie. Or are we to assume that not all any insecurities or cattiness had been aired out in those eps and some of it's saved up specifically for the companion smorgasbord when Rose is there. That any camaraderie Donna and Martha *may* have developed in the Sontaran eps is negated by their apparent insurmountable need to be catty, petty bitches fighting over the Doctor? Great, just great.

Otherwise, again with me stupidly considering what would be logical, I'd think if *anyone* was feeling acutely uncomfortable in that group, it would be Rose between her trait acquired in S2 of jealousy of other women remotely friendly to the Doctor and as Donna and Martha already know each other. Rose would or should distinctly be the third wheel there.

Which RTD will rectify by A) BadWolfing Rose to show how much she pwns if a plot device is involved, B) making Martha and Donna inexplicably give her loving praise for something that more competent Companions used to do on a regular basis, or C) making them Yentas to atone for their shame in doubting the glowy alt!verse lady whose character description boils down to "loves the Doctor and chips".

I'm starting to think the real problem isn't Rose, but the blatant author-insertion called "The Doctor", the love of whom is fickle and pointlessly competed after.

Certainly seems regardless of whether the specialest enabler is there or not, the Doctor is still Jesus. Although Ten's Jesus seems to be retracing his ancient pagan roots with all the young, virginal (usually blonde) sacrifices he's most keen on. Wasn't bad enough he's brain damaged from the Time War radiation poisoning (*bows to violetisblue* That still makes more sense than anything else!). Straight outta your icon, he had to go and eat Rose's brain along with it. It's almost like the viking's funeral where a slave girl voluntarily offers herself to be sacrificed to serve her master in the afterlife... which I do say partly in jest, but then I remember, disturbingly, Rose's (who we're reminded anvilly of how she had nothing and was nothing - NOTHING - prior her suprspeshulz alien boyfriend gracing it) willingness to die by his side in "Doomsday" and it's not quite so funny.
