Now this is interesting, it looks like "Torchwood" S2 is apparently going to be starting January 26 on BBC America. Simultaneously with the British schedule from the looks. Heh. They're finally getting clued in on us Americans not particularly fond of the obscenely long wait and are doing something about it? *shocked* More Martha on mah tv box sooner than I thought and legally!! YAY!

Date: 2007-11-21 03:40 am (UTC)even if it's kind of shitconsidering how hard BBCA was pushing it. There were several page spreads in TV Guide and whatnot. Neither Sci Fi or BBCA ever marketed Who that hard. I've caught some eps from time to time and it doesn't look too horribly chopped up, but then I'm not familiar enough with the uncut Brit airings. I've only ever seen S1 the one time despite the sparring eps I've caught on BBCA. I just hope they leave all the Martha intact, since that's pretty much my only reason for tuning in right this second.no subject

Date: 2007-11-21 04:01 am (UTC)Heh. Somewhat amused TW seems to be doing the business here in a way Who can't seem to be able to. Certainly has a lot more publicity than Who (I've seen ads for "Torchwood" on USA and Sci Fi). IIRC, there's even a Torchwood magazine coming out here, if it isn't out already. Then again, TW only airs on the one channel, Who airs on several (but yeah, still don't see any sonic screwdrivers or plastic Daleks in Toys R' Us). If I'm right about BBCA airing TW S2 and Who S3 side by side? That will be interesting what it might do for Freema's career here. Especially if they decide to boost any of Who's marketing considering how well TW has gone for them.
It seems reasonably un-chopped, as opposed to the Sci-Fi Channel completely gutting DW like a fish, but then you never know.
I could live without knowing, truthfully. Maybe if I were more invested, but if there have been any cuts? *shrugs* However, if they do touch any of the Martha? That will get me falling back on the old reliable methods of Brit telly watching right quick.

*jumps up and down, just a little*

Date: 2007-11-21 03:37 am (UTC)If BBCA makes a coup on Sci Fi to snag first dibs on Who from them, maybe we could get Who simultaneously as well with the British broadcast?? Then again, from what I hear, TW does better on BBCA than Who does so they might not campaign as hard for Who even if it is the flagship (then again, S2 is what's airing right now, so not exactly a selling point but then I'm biased in that regard). That would be sweet as I could save up my hard drives for other stuff and my lazy ass wouldn't have to dl a thing.
And Martha-sodes too!!!!
I'm wondering if BBCA is airing S3 Who by January as well? Right now they've got TW S1 paired up with Who S2 on Saturday nights, but S2 is very near completion. Wouldn't surprise me if they did.... which would mean we'd get double doses of Martha love. Looks like my Saturday nights are potentially blocked out for the nerd fixes!
But possibly double the Marfa!! OMG!!no subject
