Although this does nothing to dissuade my cracky belief of the Black Guardian in Nu. He was in Key to Time, yes, but Black Guardian trilogy was amongst Five's.

After much distress last night attempting to view this thing, I finally got to see it. My heart still has that place in it for Five. (While he was not my "first", he was still my fangirlie teenage crush). There was and is not one speck of disappointment in my mind. It was better than some full length episodes. It was obvious that the two actors had a wonderful time, and they played off of one another so well, it really is a shame more couldn't have been filmed. (maybe just some Easter egg or something, a bonus for all us fans?) I would have loved to see more of the banter, perhaps a conversation over tea and "nibbles"? The celery, the beard quip, the fan accusation, Ten's reaction to the LiNDA mention? (I know I messed up that acronym) One small wish though...I would have liked to see both Five and Ten speak in unison on that final "WHAT???!!!".

Dammit, still have over a month to wait for Christmas, and then endless months to wait for the series to begin again. *pouts*

If I remember correctly, after Martha leaves, there is a brief shot of Ten walking by the hand, in a jar, on the floor. In Time Crash there is no evidence of it. Where'd it go??? Just wondering, mind you.

I didn't see the hand, so they either forgot to stick it back on the set or took it out so the actors wouldn't trip on it.

Know what? The hand is there, or at least the jar. Upon further inspection, it does appear to be there, although it is turned to the side so that you can't see the blue glowey liquid, and thus it kind of blends into the Tardis interior. Poo, I was all ready to rant and rave about continuity and the lot, but I was mistook.

And both actors skillfully maneuvered around it.

Although does put an interesting spin on it when you think Ten is essentially fanboy, slashily gushing over... himself. Halo. Thar. Narcissus!

Speaking of the Chrimbo special, you know, it did dawn on me when I first heard the title of the ep, but just saying it... that has to be the least Christmasy title of a "Christmas special" I've ever heard. Voyage of the Damned? Now apart from creepy aryan kids with telekinesis powers, that title makes me think of just about anything BUT Christmas. Makes me think of the River Styx / Charon right away, for starters. Then the realization it's set on the Titanic (regardless if that's the actual Titanic or some faux spaceship version, it still namedrops the doomed ship in our heads)... between the title *and* the Titanic backdrop? DUDE! WHAT is remotely Christmasy about that?? LOL!

I really loved the very brief look on Davison's face after Tennant/Ten said that line. If Tennant popped OOC, then so did Davison right then, almost with a tear in his eye.

And you certainly wouldn't be wrong for accusing the old Doc of being vain.

There had better be some serious "holiday" joviality and hooting and hollering going on in this thing to make it Christmasy. At least the song sounds holiday-ish. I want dancing dammit!!!! And Mistletoe!!!! And hot toddies all around. (well, at least some Nog) Garland and Gawd-awful holiday sweaters and cut out cookies and.......
