So! Two Doctors for the Pudsey Cutaway (and per the usual cutesy piece o' multi-Doctor skiffy, they don't cause a catastrophic paradox)...


And two doctors for 5 eps of S4...


CRACKSPEC OF THE MOMENT: The Martha Jones we see in S4 isn't Martha Jones at all, but the perception-filtered / chameleon-arched!11th Doctor pretending to be Martha Jones (and per a new/the same bit o' Who skiffy avoided collapsing all time & space by going back in time to travel with her/his earlier self, Ten)... for some grand plan to save the universe to be revealed in time for Big 'n' Epic Finale. Pudsey Cutaway = Foreshadowing?? DISCUSS! HEY! Don't look at me like that!! I warned about teh crack!!

ETA. If Martha's return in S4 isn't called "The Two Doctors" just cuz? I'll be a bit upset. Don't care if it be misleading!

I guess it was something Rusty started...? Something about a teddy bear and a Dalek one-off special, or so says Wikipedia...

Russell T. Davies joked in a Doctor Who Magazine article that it was called Pudsey Cutaway – after the Children in Need teddy-bear mascot and modifying Dalek Cutaway, an alternative title for Mission to the Unknown (something of a one-off special itself, from the programme's earliest black-and-white era).

Ugh! They're going to make me watch this season! I was done, all through, no more... and then they draw me back in. Crap. I can't stand Donna. And last season pissed me off something fierce.

But the 5th Doctor! Too bad Nyssa/Tegan won't be there too. Still. I'll be watching now, thanks, Russell! *shakes fist*

Well, I really do think Donna is just the sort of companion the Tenth Doctor needs at this point. Some happy-slapping and calling him on his shit when he needs it might actually get him to face up to those nasty issues of his that have come to drive away his companions in S3, potential and primary. This whole asshole phase really needs to get sorted and I've got some faith the writers are on their way in doing that. Between them bringing back Donna "You need someone to tell you to stop" Noble and Martha giving him a second chance.

It's possible that he does need her, but I can't stand the woman playing her. I despised her in the Runaway Bride episode. I mean full-fledged hate.

He does need someone to smack him back into shape, because I'm not thrilled with him either. Issues aside he's too hyper, too screechy, too... annoying. I just really didn't like season 3 and I hate that I didn't like it.

I admit that I didn't really care for CT's comedy show the few times I've ever caught it, but I've seen her in a few movies in more dramatic roles and she's really quite good. I also hear the Donna we see in S4 will be a more toned down version from the one we saw in TRB.

Too bad about you not liking S3. I had some issues with it myself, but for the most part, I enjoyed it a lot more than I did S2 (with the exception of GITF, still one of my favorites of the New Series).

Although Tom Baker was my first Doctor, I had an enormous crush on Peter (used to watch "All Creatures..." religiously) and when he became the Doctor I was thrilled out of my hormonal mind. To see him again is just...wow!!

Anyway, hooray for Martha coming back, as a full fledged real Doctor, fresh out of Torchwood where hopefully she stuck a boot up Owen's ass, with a new boyfriend (whom Ten doesn't approve of...HAH!!! See? You blew it Emoboy!!!) Ah...Mother figure Donna and you-pushed-her-away-you-ass ex-not girlfriend giving our Ten an all out estrogen smackdown. I am grinning from ear to ear right now. And I suspect, from seeing the one action shot recently released in the paper, the Doctor is really going to get pushed and dragged around by his proverbial ear this season. *huge grin*

Oh, and "Pudsey Cutaway" sounds obscene to me...not sure why.

Rusty being obsessed with the romantic stuff and laughably overwrought religious imagery), but I'm definitely calling some Donna palms meeting Time Lord face with extreme prejudice every so often, yes.

Well, since she doesn't seem to be another "love" interest for Ten, she will be more of the mother dragging around the petulant and precocious little brat (Ten) by his ear lobe. That's why I said mother figure. So I do see a few mother-like "attention getters" upside Ten's head. I can even foresee a mother type full blown meltdown ending with Ten just standing there, mouth agape, staring at Donna with fear in his eyes and "Uh oh, she's pissed" on his mind. (Yup, I'm a mom, and I've had a few of those myself)

That's just....eeeewwwwww. I'm so glad I linger on the fringes of fandom, scarcely dipping in my big toe. Phew.
