SGA 308 - McKay and Mrs. Miller

retro_eidasJust to get it out of the way, I really loved McKay's sister. I'd hope that they might be able to find some permanent fixture for her amongst the cast in some way (especially if - I don't know - the Ori threaten to assimilate the Earth or something in SG1 and they need to evacuate as many Earthlings as they can... Jeannie & fam can head to Atlantis).
Through a lot of the ep, particularly every time Jeannie mentioned how Rodney (or... Meredith? heee) never bothered to contact her at all in four years - I kept wondering if the vid message from "Letters from Pegasus" just fell into writer limbo... but then they addressed it at the very end (on John's laptop). I really liked that (and just when I'm about to accuse the writers of lax continuity).
I loved the scene with Rodney ranting in John's room... for so many reasons. They're just so comfortable with each other.
Although amusing John apprantly got to smuggle over a big ol' set of golf clubs. I suppose that whole "one personal item" thing gained a bit of levity after the Daedalus and ZPM (as short a time they had it.... so much for exploring the rest of the city while it was still alive!).
And as lovely as that last scene with the team was... was I the only one that got a sense of forboding from it? In an all good things must come to an end, very purposeful, even blunt, sort of way? Showing them so filial, sharing stories and teasing each other.... to prepare for some tragedy (possibly to hit the team itself) before the end? Considering they just lost their one and only ZPM and they're not only dodging the Wraith, but now the more formidable Asurans as well? It seems like some terrible tragedy is being set-up. Made more tragic by the very family-like atmosphere of this season. It's probably very likely, in fact (topped off with whatever happens at the end of SG1).
