doctor who fanmix

retro_eidasMy first Doctor Who fanmix... and it's for Ten/Reinette.
I probably committed some terrible grammatical malfeasance with the fanmix title (my français is beaucoup mal) which I probably should have kept in English, but c'est en français (and I'm too lazy to change it). Throwing it through Babelfish and depending on it's accuracy, it means, "Remainders of Dreams". So if there are any French speakers out there, forgive me if I mangled your language. I felt like making a Ten/Reinette mix because they were absolutely lovely and tragic in "The Girl in the Fireplace". I also don't see a whole lot of Ten/Reinette mixes around and, at least for me, they seem so easily soundtrackable. Not to mention, between David Tennant and Sophia Myles, that's mass quantities of pretty. I just wanted an excuse to stare at their pretty pictures for 45 minutes making the covers. ;)

Date: 2006-08-19 11:15 am (UTC)Anyhow, the songs are brilliant, they work so well. I love finding songs that make you think of a certain pairing or a certain character. And I absolutely adore the French songs, it's such a beautiful language (and it makes me wish I knew it better!).
Aaaanyway, that was long-winded. In short, this is brilliant :D

Heh. Thanks. I actually hadn't noticed it when I was making the mix, but most of them are covers (from Cohen to Siouxsie & the Banshees). That would probably explain the awesome. ;)

They were great together and I really think they're underrepresented in the fandom. They were also in one of the best episodes of the season, if not the best imho. 10/Reinette and the ep totally deserve more fan stuffs. :D

Date: 2006-11-28 03:01 pm (UTC)Yes, there really isn't enough 10/Reinette stuff out there. They had such a great chemistry in their episode it's really kinda sad that they don't get more attention.
And although I think I sorta ship 10/Rose, their connection just seemed so much more... I dunno, more mature maybe. Whatever it was, I liked it.
And I have to agree with the one-of-the-best-episodes, too. Well, I've only just seen AoS but so far GitF is my favourite (but the whole timeline thing-y confused me a bit. If she has to take the 'slow path' (or whatever they called it, I can't really remember) why does time go so fast in 'her world' that when he visits her a few minutes later she's already so much older/gone? My otherwise-not-so-stupid-brain fails me! XD).
