Aug. 19th, 2005 10:43 amI'm a paid user again. The lull of obscene amounts of icon usage won me over.
::waves at all the new members of the FL::
I've already been coaxed into watching two more tv shows (bah). Battlestar Galactica and Veronica Mars. These are my back-ups in case the whole Lost thing goes south. I'm going to have to find some icons for both BSG and VM. I have already found some big comms for it, but maybe it just says something about me... they're all for spoilers. *sighs* I didn't even intend on finding spoiler boards, I just stumbled onto them. ::is pathetically weak and spoiled rotten for Lost::

Scary.
General spec at the moment is "Adebisi" (I believe going by "Emeka" on Lost) was on the Nigerian drug plane and/or he's the leader of the Others. Neither would surprise me in the least. I do not think he's a grown-up Walt.... although I am leaning towards Walt and his dog being the unmitigated TEH EVOL (poor Mercutio, but if it's any solace, he probably all got it from his heinously bitchy mother). We shall see.
And unfortunately, I'm still sorrowfully banking on Shannon the one to go. *sighs* Maybe if she goes in a blaze of glory, it may soften the blow (i.e., killed during an attack by the Others in retribution for Locke & posse violating the Hatch). Naveen could likely do wonders with a tragic mourning scene.

I do hope for at least one sex scene before the seemingly eminent end. They did seem to be heading directly that way prior Boone turning Piggy by way of a Beechcraft.
I still think it would be more exciting if they went for a non-death with Kate. Picture it, she falls into the Hatch, but is engulfed in the black cloud o' mystery (you never see her hit the bottom) ... Jack & companions fearing the worst of course. Sawyer returns and Jack tells him of the tragedy... first it's his pissed-off incredulity, then anger, probably some punches thrown... then they cry all over each other (a la the end of X2). The hoyay would be everso delicious and rabid. Then Ana-Lucia comes along macking on Mourning!Jack and Sawyer either wallows in his misery (or perhaps macks a little on Claire? Pushing Charlie further into future Locke disciple). Time presses on... and turns out Ana-Lucia wasn't the heroine / Kate-replacement folks were expecting her to be (i.e., she's an island operative or something screwing them all over) and ... dun dun DUN.... this is when Kate returns. Effing KILLS Ana-Lucia with extreme prejudice. But... is that really Kate (or possibly an [evol] twin that may have been hinted at in S1)? The only one who knows for certain is Emeka... and he, of course, isn't talking.
But, they won't do any of that. I've already pretty much accepted the outcome of a Jack / Kate / Ana Lucia / Sawyer quadrangle. *sighs*
And in further entire randomness... I don't think they're ever getting off that island. Not only due to my thoughts of it being a metaphoric purgatory, but also because I just don't think there is or will be anything to go back to. I still think they're (that would be the Lostaways and the Others) part of some human assurance supr sekrit gov't project to sustain the human race after the event of fall-out. Something this Deep Throat / Millenium Group / Big Brother organization knew was coming. Either thanks to the like of gifted individuals (insert Nostradamus, Da Vinci or Rambaldi... or Walt... types here) or Reading the signs (as Locke would say), having long-time inside gov't information knowing what was inevitably coming or causing it themselves. I think it may be a combo of all three factors. The island as both salvation but also an apocalyptic doomsday device. Of course, none of the island residents are aware of this. Possibly the Others have more information than the Lostaways. I do suspect there may be at least one mole who knows exactly what the island is about. For awhile I was thinking it might be Jack, but it could be Ana Lucia too. Perhaps both of them.

Date: 2005-08-20 02:02 am (UTC)You know, he really is a good actor. Whether he's cross-dressing and traipsing around to "Young Hearts Run Free" or not. "Lost" really underutilizes him.
i am with you on hoping it doesn't go 'south'
Although it's not even funny how bad this show can get. I keep fearing aliens are going to show up... and that would make me cry. Seriously.

Date: 2005-08-23 02:44 am (UTC)Although that might explain why they're all so damn beautiful... they're all a bunch of rich lost fiji tourists with amnesia... or perhaps they're all just a little (or a lot) baked. I know what they sell afterhours (http://www.bcdtf.com/Marijuana%20Leaf2.gif) on Nassau beaches... and it isn't cheap plastic sunglasses or gum.
