Just an fyi, and you "Alias" folks may already be familiar with this, but along the Eastern Block, Nadia means 'Hope'. JJA seems to like the name, I wouldn't be shocked he's familiar with this meaning.

However, tying this into Locke's line, this seems like one big festering, icky ball of convenient... but I guess you never know. Looks like everyone is inter-connected somehow and pulled there by some currently omniscient Prospero (or Management if you were into Carnivale). Maybe 'Nadia' is not!dead (not that living/dead seems to matter), Prospero spirited her onto Flight 815 and she's currently residing with the Others on the other side of the island? Which is probably where that hatch leads. Methinks it's a tunnel across the island (possibly initially used by smugglers for transport/storage until the badly rendered CGI bears got them... or something). Thus, 'hope' is 'in the box'.

Bringing in Sayid's long lost Nadia would be right up JJA's alley imo (i.e., Vaughn's girlfriend, Agent Noah, Will Tippin, Lauren, etc)... and someone has got to throw a wrench in Shannon/Sayid with Boone no longer amongst the living (unless he turns to haunting sis, which I suppose could be a better than average possibility). Then again, that would be two shows now JJA has thrown in a new character named Nadia. Seems a bit treaded.

If the hatch is a tunnel, it probably won't be as much of a problem for Jack's posse to travel through (barring any creepy whatsits and there's likely some)... as keeping those rednecks out. Methinks that door they blasted open was their only Whomping Willow (barring mist monsters, et al) and they blew the hell out of it. "Lock(e) problem" indeed, Jack. They're going to get bum rushed by a bunch of kidnapping yokels with homemade hand grenades.

For the most part I’ve just given up on trying to figure out what’s going on Lost. However, there is one thing that strikes me about Locke’s line... Hope was also in Pandora’s box; it was the only thing left in the box after she opened it and unleashed all the evils that had previously been confined in the box. That’s how the lines resonates with me. That give a rather ominous overtone to the whole idea of opening the hatch...

So there's going to be a whole lot of hell to pay for Jack & co. before they see any heaven? ;) Sounds November Sweeps-erific. I foresee a big tussle with the rednecks, probably right there in the gaping hatch.

How do we know it's not SpySkipper Nadia in the hatch! Maybe when you get the red eye crazy, your spirit goes to the island providing crossover opportunities galore!
