How very glad I am I didn't get that Jeep Grand Cherokee in high school.

And how I revel in the schadenfreude of my poser cousin who got the Escalade his freshman year in college. He couldn't afford the gas guzzler in the first place and to top things off, he lives in LA. *snorts*

My Toyota Corolla may be lame, but I didn't have to move back in with my parents to keeping it running. Bu-bye phat ride.

On a side note.... Good LAWD gas is expensive. And I'm still futiley wishing someone (anyone) finally fixes Murka's damn disgraceful rail system. I do fear what's going to happen in the next 15 years or so if this country doesn't find a more energy-efficient means of transport.

Gotta love that SuperW high octane stuff, eh?? Definitely worth a DOLLAR A GALLON more than the Clinton mid-grade gas. I went to fill up my car about 2 weeks ago (a 2000 Saturn SW wagon, which fortunately only takes about 11 gallons), accidentally picked up the wrong nozzle and ended up paying $2.499 for super unleaded *headdesk* I won't get fooled again.

1 Gallon are 3.5 litre, right? Then hold on a moment and I tell you what I pay: roughly 4 Euro which is 5, 30 Dollar per Gallon.
This said, I seriously envy you guys for this low prices.

Those prices are extortive... but y'all do have that lovely train system in Europe. I only wish the US didn't drop the ball as it has on the rails. How I would have loved to buy a pass and be able to travel half the country (as well as possibly Canada and Mexico) without having to spend a gallon on gas.

I pay $23 to fill my Ford Bronco a bit more than a quarter of a tank. Well, nearly half, but not quite. That lasts me about a week. *sigh*

Your entries are just awesome; I really love reading them... Just not as well-spoken as you tend to be, so I try not to say much...

You're definitely great material for being a journalist! ^____^

I wish we had a decent rail system. Lord knows we have enough track, but over the years the mismanagement and neglect has made the whole system useless.

We are a automobile centric society. One must have the newest, brightest and best car on the block, and we even use the car for something as simple as going to the store at the end of the block. We have no decent transit services: no buses, trains, shuttles. All we have is the big gas guzzling auto. Grrr.........

My husband is reimbursed for his gas on his job. However, while the price of gas has gone up, his reimbursment has remained the same, so at the end of the week he is actually loosing money out of his pocket.
