I don't know how reliable this information is, but if true it's interesting.

I first read this at TWOP, but the original source can be found here (you have to scroll down a bit).

According to the source, there are apparently good chances for a season 5 of X-M:EVO and there are talks going on. The students will be "older" and the premise will take place after "X-2".

I'm all for a season 5 of EVO and *lurve* the "X-Men" movies, but premise post-"X2"? EVO and the X-Men movie canon are really nothing alike. For example, how many characters are in EVO but not in the movies? EVO has twice as many characters. That's just the tip of the iceberg. How are they going to start following movie canon this late in the series? Wouldn't they have to change a lot?

How much "older" are the students going to be? My thoughts are lingering on the whole Scott / Jean / Wolverine thing (fairly prevalent in the movies so far as it is in the comics). Wolverine was a teacher in EVO and Scott/Jean were his students (until they graduated, obviously). That would be pretty gutsy on the (Kids)WB's parts if they actually romantically link Jean/Wolverine in some way. Not that I'd be wholly against it. I've read the comics based on EVO and Wolverine did think Jean was beautiful, but it never went past thought-bubbles and only appeared in one issue (it felt like it was only there because the Wolvie/Jean thing is such a big thing in the actual X-M comics). It would make for less squicky (W/R) EVO fic if the students are older. ;) Of course, it's not that gutsy. Wasn't Jean pretty young when Jean / Wolvie first met in the comics? Although, Wolverine was never Jean's teacher but for EVO canon as far as I know. Another thing (amongst the many things) prevalent in the movies but not (from what I can tell) in EVO... Rogue's crush on Wolvie. Will that show up in EVO if there's anything to this rumor? heee Wouldn't be against that introduced at all. Then again, I'm ludicrously biased. ;)

What they should do for EVO, IMO, is keep the EVO canon as is, separate from the movies. Bring in some whizbang anime artists and some tight writers. However, if they ARE tying in EVO with the "X2", then I assume they must be doing it to boost EVO's popularity by tagging it with the movies. Also give more promotion to the movies and give people something to latch onto during the LONG wait for "X3".
