First IY movie on Cartoon Network
Jul. 14th, 2004 06:04 pmThis is for the "Inuyasha" fans on my friends list, but apparently Cartoon Network will air the first "Inuyasha" movie (Love That Transcends Time) sometime in the Spring '05. I think this came out about two years ago in Japan? It's cute and worth a watch, although not sure it's worth this long a wait. No idea why Viz has been sitting on their hands with it. IY looks like it's doing really well stateside (despite a rather unfortunate dub and CN's perpetual rescheduling), but you'd think Viz would strike while the iron is hot and push out the movie(s) faster than this. Eh. At least the US has it now. There are a few drawbacks to the movie. The story isn't canon (not uncommon with anime spin-off movies, but ... eh), the movie animation is different then the series (I prefer series) and Sesshoumaru is almost non-existant. He actually doesn't get any kind of part in the movies until the third unfortunately. *sighs* Fluffy. He's so the money.
Forgot to add, the first movie will also have limited theatrical release in a few US cities. I say save your money and wait until it's on CN... unless it's between this and "Catwoman"... then by all means, go see the IY movie.
A fourth IY movie is also on the way, coming out this December in Japan I think. Although what I hear of the story? It doesn't do anything for me (lots of IY / Kikyou. Meh).
