JK Rowling's official site updated
May. 15th, 2004 10:57 amAccording to The Leaky Cauldron, J.K. Rowling's official site has been updated. There are apparently hidden clues and tidbits from the books.
From TLC:
The site reveals that:
Ginny's real name is Ginevra.
Fred and George were born on April Fool's Day.
Sirius' eyes are grey.
The lost Weasley cousin's name is Mafalda, and is an unpleasant Slytherin child who is a match for Hermione's talents.
The opening chapter of Book Six is a chapter she's been mulling as an opening since she started writing.
Molly's maiden name is Prewett - she has family members who were killed by Death Eaters.
Gilderoy Lockhart really is based on a real person.
Her editors wanted to cut the scene in PS where Hermione, Harry and Ron fight the troll, but she refused.
In the EDITS section, you get some backstory on Dean, a summary of a scene where Draco and Theodore Nott converse, an explanation of the "missing cousin" from Goblet of Fire and a tiny explanation about the first chapter of Book Six, which is called Book Six throughout the site, which this editor believes to indicate that there is, as yet, no official title for Book Six.
Interesting Sirius' eyes are the same color as Draco's. That's probably a good indicator Draco must get them from his mother's side.
Looks like Molly is related to Gideon and Fabian Prewett (They were murdered by Antonin Dolohov. The same that tried to use that purple swishing curse on Hermione and Harry in OotP). Am I the only one unnerved that these murdered Prewetts first names begin with "G" and "F".... George and Fred anyone? Is Dolohov going to murder them too?
Ginevra? Wow. Can't get more Italian than that. How is it Ginny got such an exotic sounding name? Ginevra, incidentally, is the Italian form of "Guinevere". De Vinci also has a famous portrait entitled "Ginevra (de) Benci".
