James McAvoy in NARNIA
May. 14th, 2004 12:00 pmUnfortunately, it seems he's in the running for Mr. Tumnus. James McAvoy's hotness traipsing around Narnia (Yeah!!)... with the bottom half of a goat (uhm...yeah?).
May 13, 2004 - Coming hot on the heels of the White Witch casting announcement is the report that Tumnus the Faun may also have been chosen. Narnia Fans reports that James McAvoy, who played Leto Atreides in Children of Dune, may have been offered the part. If true, it would be the second major character cast for The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, which begins filming in about a month.
Mr. Tumnus is the first creature Lucy meets when she stumbles through the portal in her uncle's magical wardrobe and into the forests of Narnia. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the first in an anticipated series of films based on the novels by C.S. Lewis.
Disney and Buena Vista Games have also announced one or more video games to be based on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Andrew Adamson, who is directing the movie, said he would be working closely with the game developers. "Through the video game," says Adamson, "fans will be able to re-open the wardrobe countless times to revisit the magical world of Narnia and all of its characters and environments." More details are available at Gamespy.
I don't know whether to SQUEE or be unnerved. ::confused::
BUT, for now... SQUEE!!

This reminds me of Hugh in "Van Helsing" and Goran Visnjic landing a big role in an upcoming blockbuster... but the blockbuster is the Elektra spin-off movie. WEEE! ... but... meh.

There goes the last vestiges of my childhood.... thinking Mr. Tumnus is hot. I'd figure they'd lean more towards someone like Timothy Spall or maybe (gag) Robin Williams for Tumnus. I could even maybe see Billy Boyd making a not so bad Tumnus... but Leto II? He just seems a little too pretty to me. Like Orlando Bloom playing Mr. Toad in the Wind and the Willows or something.
