New (French) HP&PoA trailer
May. 2nd, 2004 02:51 pmTechnically, it's in English with French subtitles, but it's specifically for le cinema francais. Many new snippits from PoA. It's a bloody brilliant trailer, however, I'm posting it since I know there are a few R/HRs on my friends list and there are at least two moments in the trailer that I would consider "awww"-worthy for y'all. Trailer courtesy of The Leaky Cauldron.
It appears they gave Hermione Ron's line, "If you're going to kill Harry, you're going to have to kill us too." I suppose they did it for more emotional, visual impact (Hermione could say it while standing). I'm not sure how that Shrieking Shack scene is going to come off. I was expecting more fury from Harry and he seems somewhat subdued. But it's like 20 seconds of the scene, so I'll save any judgements for after I've seen PoA in it's full glory.
Beyond that, Bloody. brilliant. trailer. The scene where Buckbeak is sailing across the sky with Hogwarts in the background? The gliding, appropriately chilling dementors? Voldemort's raspy whispering in the crystal ball? SQUEE!!! I've been waiting for the PoA movie since they locked the franchise for film. I was already Alfonso Cuaron's bitch, but it looks like he's hit PoA out of the park. It makes me even more concerned Mike Newell has taken the reins for GoF. I'm thinking specifically about the scene(s) at the end. Newell is most famous for his rom-coms. I have to wonder what exactly he's going to bring to the palette after what looks to be - in all angles - a fantastic entry by Cuaron? Newell really wouldn't have been my first choice for GoF. Seriously.
