Do you know what I'd love to see? A movie remake (or sequel) of "Flash Gordon", but in rock opera form. With Hugh Jackman as Flash and Tim Curry as Ming the Merciless. Perhaps throw David Bowie (as Prince Barin) in there for good measure. Singing with the big voices that would make Freddie Mercury proud. A huge gaudy rock popera mish mash with bright colored costumes, evil warlords, midgets on chains and cheesy dialogue. I can almost hear the wailing guitar riffs now.

ka-CHING! Box office GOLD!

first I have to find and watch The Worst Witch

Best.Halloween.movie.ever.

Before there was Harry Potter... there was Mildred Hubble... and Tim Curry acid trip, cheap ass music videos.

That movie is like one of the embodiments of my childhood and you can barely get it on video. It's just so wrong!!

Miss Hardbroom scared the shit out of me when she busted in on Mildred and Maud when they were talking about her. And it had such great music! I would walk around all the time just belting out "Queen Aggie's School" at all times. I have got to get this movie even if it kills me!

And yay! Now we know what the Grand High Wizard was high on! Wooo!

I wouldn't be surprised they're working on releasing a DVD. Then release it September or early October. The movie is like an 80s cult hit and it's got Singing!Tim Curry in it (pretty much solidifying it's cult status). There are few 20-somethings I know who haven't seen it and I know quite a few. Which is amusing considering how heinously cheap the movie is. It looks like it had the production values of a Mexican soap opera.

I've got the mp3 of that song. I love how, just before the song picks up tempo, he's moaning. Like post-coital euphoria almost. I wondered why considering the majority of his audience was 12 yr old girls (unless that was all for Ms. Hardbroom). If I recollect, his whole attitude while he's there actually is very Hello. My name is Pierre. I've come to have sex with your family. Probably channelling a little too much Dr. Frankenfurter in that performance (but isn't he always?)... and he's Tim (the enchanter?) so you let things slide.

I was going to say...6 year old me thinks that's the best avatar ever. But I'm not even being original.

You're still original. I was 10 when I watched the movie for the first time. ;)
