  • I liked the ep, but *sighs* I'm still looking mostly to Classic for my Dalek fix. It did feel like a 40s radio serial, which I liked. I kept waiting for the Phantom to run in.

  • The beginning felt rushed and I didn't really feel for any of the guests, not even for Ms. Brokenhearts who lost her pilot boyfriend and I think I was supposed to feel for her. Oh well.

  • Too bad we couldn't get a Nancy cameo. She was one of my favorites from S1.

  • Unfortunately, if I didn't know anything about Winston Churchill beforehand, I'd think he didn't do much in WW2 besides smoke cigars and sign things? Also steal TARDIS keys. Tricksy prime minister! Though that is a bit scary since Churchill had a scientist that might have actually understood the inner workings of the TARDIS had Amy not caught his tricksiness.

  • I did like Dr. Bracewell (heh, nice names, Moff), though disarming a bomb by reaching out to it's humanity? Eh. A bit too much like Cylons only successfully crossbreeding when they're in love. Robotics foiled by the power of love again (and why was there even a first time? *sighs*).

  • That is the biggest wrench I've ever seen. And Eleven is unleashing his own Dalek-breakdown with it (but big wrench is BIG).

  • BIG GIRL CLOTHES ON AMY! AND I LOVE HER STYLE OMG!! *girlcrushing*

  • Fetching all that tea and the Daleks had never seen a cookie before? I guess I've got to blame it on war rationing?

  • Oh! Pretty colors! And I shall dub them the Dell Inspiron Daleks. Daleks Inspiron?

  • Spitfires. in. SPACE. Though my brainmeat was ruining it for me and all I could think was "Independence Day".

  • "You ever fancy someone you know you shouldn't?" Oh no. Well, at least she seems to have a sense he's unattainable, which is more than Rose or Martha got? Rose was pleasant to Reinette, vice versa. I'm going to hope the same can be said for meetings/interactions in the upcoming ep.

Next week: O HAI RIVER! And Weeping Angels. Looks like I'll be vacuuming behind the sofa before the next ep. Also meandering around in a cave? Amy needs to watch out for Cybermen. Also possibly giant clams.

rofl, well, sometimes brains just grab things an run with them, and you don't really know why... Kinda of like a puppy.

I suppose my dislike of Martha was tainted by my own dislike of the fact that Rose was gone... Whatever her flaws, she's still my favorite companion (though Donna and so far, Amy, are close behind). I can admit that. But you're right, Ten never did treat her right. And yeah, the Doctor's got an ego.

...He said that? *stuffs fingers in ears and hums loudly* Author intent is not canon, author intent is not canon... Dammit, I am NOT having one of my few ships that became canon get taken from me because Davies can't leave things to interpretation... (I always interpreted running after the TARDIS as yeah, she's made her choice, but that doesn't erase everything she felt for the original Doctor, and she was still sad to see him go (...and possibly a little bitter about being left behind without being asked if it was what she wanted... I would be))

Hahaha, I've seen that fanart before. It was funny then, still funny now. I admit, the "thought I was special" thing was annoying... But at least she and Sarah Jane became friends. I'd like to think that she and Martha, and Donna would have as well, if given the chance...

I'll just say there was a time I thought Davies was a decent writer. I enjoyed "Second Coming" with Chris Eccleston. I enjoyed S1. Then S2 happened. Then Martha's arc, a companion who would have rocked (and I feel did rock, despite some crap she was saddled with) had she not had that damn unrequited love arc thrust on her, happened. Donna salvaged things somewhat, but her ending was... disturbing to say the least. Basically, I'd sort of rather pretend large swaths of Ten's tenure didn't happen at all and was very relieved when Davies left. Very. I'm just sad we couldn't have seen a bit of Ten under the control of someone else for awhile, wonder if my opinion on him might have changed. Oh well, such is the ever-changing nature of Who.

Also, don't ever read RTD's autobiography. Seriously. Just don't do it. Cuz if you think you're stuffing your fingers in your ears now...? Read that and you'll be diving for the Kaopectate. Possibly kicking things too. Hard.

... I have a problem with morbid curiosity, but... What sort of things did he say in that? I've heard that many people hat the kicking things reaction, but no one's really said why...
