My fanwank is they've been holding off on the Dean/Cas for when the angel/Armageddon mytharc really gets serious (second half of S5). Which, honestly, Dean is more involved in than Sammy (Dean's got the whole big Chosen One arc, prophesied to "finish it", whatever that means). Sam's got a big role to play, no doubt, but I think Dean and his angel BFF will get more interaction by necessity. Also why we got so much Dean-Sam (even S1-ish Dean-Sam) interaction in the first half, because we're not going to get as much, or at least of the non-angsty variety, in the second.

Yup, my fanwank, and I'm sticking to it... until Kripke josses it right out of my batshit fangirly hands. *sighs*

Though it's not like he can really talk about Castiel, his angel BFF, to random strangers who might be Michael L.O.L. Though I wish he would!! The one thing that's been tragically obvious since they kept Cas around is that he's been Dean's one friend in pretty much ever. It would be really nice if Dean, you know, acknowledges that. Sure he's called Cas his friend/buddy many times this season, but not sure he's actually given their rel'p much real thought. Thus befitting Cas should at least get an effing MENTION re: sad, lonely Dean's few and far between connections, Kripke!!

Otherwise, this is when Kripke needs to GTFO and fanfic fixes his flagrant Dean/Cas c-blocking. IDK if he's been trying to downplay the Dean/Cas or whatev, but he's got to know that's not going to stop the shipping. He might as well just give it up.

Just as long as they forgo "Titanic" shout-outs this time. Though even with "Titanic" shout-outs, I'd bet Dean/Cas still would be crazy hot... then again, I've read more than one Dean/Cas/Impala fic that could be just slightly coloring my opinion. ;)

That would be great! Whatever happened to the 'people mistaking Sam and Dean for boyfriends' joke. It seemed like they dropped that joke after season 2- I guess they didn't want to give the Dean/Sam shippers anymore to work with than they already had.

Really, I'm just hoping that Cas at least gets mentioned in that episode. I still find it really strange that Sam was more worried about Cas than Dean was in Abandon All Hope. Although I would really like to see more Cas and Sam interaction.
