New promo for SPN S5.

That is one creepy ass promo. Very "Black Hole Sun", all "Leave It To Beaver" until it flashes with the hideous, distorted wrongness.

• Jo holding Sam's head while Rufus gives him a salt bath? Looks like Sam's corpse-sucking habits have gotten out. Although with the black eyes and all last season, I'm wondering if the salt will indeed hurt him? He seems to be struggling against them pretty hard there.
  
  
• Dean holding a breathing mask to his face. Bio-warfare? Or is that one of those airplane breathing masks? Dean in a plane means we get a return of the aviophobia (he looks to be in some wide-eyed terror there), way back from S1. Poor Dean. lol
  
  
• The trailer does look indicative of the "Wal-Mart Apocalypse", as Kripke called it, the rest of the world going on with their normal lives while the world's ending under their noses.
  
  
• Dean holding Ruby's knife up to his own throat or someone holding it up to his throat?
  
  
• Still no Cas though, but that's not too surprising.
  
  
• "You set him free!" Is that Jo's voice or Jessica's? Might be Ruby too (not in the new season, praying to GOD, but I believe she might have said that in 4x22).

They've had a habit in the past of holding back the punches when it comes to Sammy.

I'm hoping that they'll take the kiddie gloves off in S5. Sammy's a big boy and he can wear his big boy shorts and deal with the consequences. I'll be terribly disappointed if they gloss over it and everything is back to normal in three episodes.

With the show's track record it could go either way honestly.

I think they must be torturing him, but why?

That is the $64,000 question. I can only guess that they think he's gone evil and are trying to get info, but who knows.

The suspicions get pretty obvious when you look at the pics, comparing to the other big looking hand in the promo, there's really only one viable option there.

Have you seen the new promo? (http://community.livejournal.com/supernatural_tv/1958487.html#cutid1) It's awesome, show-converting-why-haven't-I-watched-this-show-before kind of awesome. Using a song used on O Brother Where Art Thou even.

Jo's looking especially sadistic in the new promo besides. Then again, so everyone else. Castiel looks (absurdly attractive, per usual) ... scruffy.

Could be, although my crazed pet theory at the moment is he's being possessed by one of those pro-Lucifer angels and they've since put aside their grievances with Hell to align with them for a like cause (unabashed Devil worship / torch the humans).

I think Jo looks confused after the salt thing. She's looking over at Rufus all "why didn't it do anything?" So maybe they don't know Sam's (probably) one of the good guys?

I think I'm most interested in Dean and Castiel setting a guy on fire. What is up with that?

Also it kinda looks like Chuck might be running the resistance movement. He looked like he was sending people off to do battle.

That's who I though the girl was. I'm so very happy. I'm hoping she does lots of evil things because she is evil. Also maybe her and Dean hung out together in hell.

Of course, we know from Azazel that some methods don't out certain (crazy powerful) demons. They might just up their game. Considering Sam had enough juice to bump off Lilith and if they're remotely aware of that? That might be exactly what they're going to do.

Cas seems to be transmuting into the character of which his outfit is inspired. Maybe there's hope for some Dean/Cas action after all? LOL ;)

Seriously though, burning people alive? More torturing people tied down in chairs? Evil Sam is EVIL (in WHITE, dun dun DUN!!) All in the first one/two eps?? Has Kripke's brainmeats been devoured by Eli Roth or something?

LOL!!! God, I didn't catch that but now I'm praying it's true. Maybe that might actually get him laid?
