random SPN & TSCC spec out of boredom
Mar. 15th, 2009 09:24 pmSPN: I think that last fight in "Sex & Violence" was likely a big fat clue to what's going to happen at the end of this season. Sam is going to keep on juicing up his demon powers despite everyone and their mother telling him not to. He's also going to keep on being pretty arrogant and increasingly complacent the more powerful he gets. However, in the end and no matter how powerful he gets, Dean is going to hand his ass to him again and in such a way it totally deflates Mr. Big Head Antichrist, also probably scares him (and everyone else) absolutely shitless. Of course, that would mean Dean would either have to outsmart Sam or overpower him. Consider it was overpowering him in "Sex & Violence", I imagine that's going to happen again in the finale. Although that begs the question, what in the hell would be going on with Dean to make him more powerful than Sam who's been perpetually high off demon crack for more than two seasons? Angel power boost, anyone?
Another big fat clue of Sam getting bitchslapped in the finale is Sam's rather crippling flaw of being unable to see the forest for the trees ("Afterschool Special" and the Dirk the Jerk situation). The boy is so damn fixated on "getting some payback" on Lilith and getting her bloody head on plate, I imagine it's going to turn out he's neglected to think on that much bigger problem of Lucifer (unless he's convinced himself killing Lilith will stop Lucifer too, which is a dubious leap to make considering how many demons there seem to be in SPN-land). Ironic considering it's his rise that everyone's trying to avoid, compared to him, Lilith is small potatoes (undoubtedly a pain in the ass since she's the one trying to raise Lucifer, but she still ain't Lucifer). Yet not for Sam. I'd bet dollars to donuts Sam's fixation - and Ruby's (who has that same flaw Sam does or really is a damn good manipulator), as she hates Lilith too - is going to totally screw him over before the season is over. Maybe even make a bad situation worse or Sam is possibly responsible, even if indirectly, for breaking one of the final seals. When this realization hits him, it's going to be simultaneous with a very scary Dean looming over him with a fire axe in his hands. Maybe with Cas standing in for Bobby this time and keeps Dean from killing his brother.
TSCC: Speaking of sex & violence, but I think Derek and Cameron have been carrying on a secret affair for some time. This is where Cameron has been sneaking off to at night when Sarah and John are asleep. Despite Derek's fierce hatred and distrust of Cameron. A feeling (for however much that means to Cameron) that seems to be mutual. Although, that same hatred is what made me suspicious about the nature of their relationship to begin with. Derek almost seems to hate her too much.
Of course, adding to the very FUBAR to this, Derek was tortured, not by Charles Fischer like in Jesse's timeline, but it was heavily implied it was Cameron who did it (the music). Unlike Charles Fischer's interrogating, I suspect Cameron's may have taken on a distinctly sexual undertone / BDSM flare (shame of which Derek would be in no hurry to confess to anyone). No real reason why I believe that exactly, apart from the music and her capacity at seduction/luring in her prey before she strikes. She is a pretty damn good infiltration unit and we know from "Vick's Chip" that robots DO go there in their infiltrating. Upon seeing each other again in 2007, Derek is still so messed-up in the head from what happened at that old house, he at once despises her, but is also attracted to her. Basically, Derek/Cameron sort of like the network tv equivalent of "The Night Porter" (with robots!) except Derek in the role of Lucia and Cameron in the role of Max, but I doubt there's any love there.
Which all, of course, would lead to one fucked-up triangle with John (the King Arthur of the future human resistance), Cameron (Robo-Guinevere) and Derek (John's best, most trusted freedom fighting Launcelot).
I don't know why I bother as my specs are never right, but as the thoughts were nagging at me I thought I'd make it a proper braindump.

Date: 2009-03-18 12:03 am (UTC)The speculations have resurfaced again of whether Ruby and Meg's Demon are perhaps one in the same demon. I doubt that's the case, but it would be awesome if it were. Suddenly the character wouldn't seem like quite such a mess... but I still think she has to go. Part of the reason why Meg was such a convincing villain was Nikki Aycox's portrayal and Cortese just doesn't have it.
Little things made me think that Dean would be going that way. Last ep is called "Lucifer Rising", and I love the mirroring of the titles, nicely bookending the season. Would be awesome if they both referred to the same guy, eh?
And the angels got Dean out of Hell knowing what he was (or at least God knew). That might also explain why the CRDs refused to trade with Sam in IKWYDLS. Maybe Lilith knows what Dean is too and ordered the CRDs not to trade him? Alastair was appointed Dean's torturer, but also perhaps tutor to maybe awaken that deeply buried part of Dean? Maybe that was another way to bypass all the seal breaking, but because God pulled Dean out of Hell, Lilith now has to go the long way around? This all works too well.
Now we have Lucifer's Sword in the next ep. How much you want to bet - like the Colt and Ruby's Knife - it eventually ends up in Dean's possession? Well, mostly Dean's possession. Sure Sam could also use the Colt, but it was Dean who killed Azazel with it. Something neither Sam or John (despite their vendettas and John's half a lifetime devoted to it) could do. Almost like Dean was meant to have the Colt and meant to kill Azazel. Perhaps Dean might also be meant to have Lucifer's Sword (like the fallen angel's version of Excalibur or Durandal)? If this is how it goes down, I'd truly be wondering as to why that is.
And the angels urging Dean to torture Alastair, it struck me as them grooming him to become the next Lucifer or something.
Or perhaps testing him to see how he turns out? Will he fall into darkness (or perhaps Lucifer's old ways... whatever those may be) or will Dean still manage to hold onto some semblance of himself? And is it testing Dean or is it testing Lucifer (the Lucifer inside him)? Trying to discover if he's really changed and can be redeemed?
Got it as a birthday fic, really wish something like this was going down: http://autumn-lilacs.livejournal.com/111005.html
Oh wow. Thanks for linking that. Although I don't understand why it's just the handful of us that believe this storyline makes far too much sense.
THIS. THISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHISTHIS. I want this to happen soooo badly! I NEED it.
Even beyond my specs, I do think the chances are pretty good Sam is going to screw up in a major way. I'm also going to put money down on him failing to kill Lilith... or he does kill her, but this somehow triggers the greater conflict (Lucifer) one way or another. Sam is just a pawn being played by Ruby and the rest of the darkside. Even if Ruby is somehow honorable (MEH!), there's no guarantee she isn't being played too.

Date: 2009-03-18 01:40 am (UTC)I do like that idea. Alastair did say Dean had lots of potential. Kripke said Dean isn't special, but I'm hoping he's lying outta his ass, like when he said SPN would never have angels. CRDs would take anyone, I'd think, but yet they wanted to keep Dean in hell.
The Lucifer's sword thing, that's pretty cool. I wish it would end up bonded to him somehow. (And then he can kill Ruby with it, yay!) Good point about the torture being a test - the Halloween episode was the same way! The angels had to listen to Dean, and he wanted to save the town.
Oh, have you read Rae666's take on Lucifer!Dean? It's quite good, with a sequel in progress. http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3455577/1/Lucifer
And I agree completely. Sam's on his way to a major fuck-up. He's gonna go too far, and it'll be Sam vs Dean, as the spoilers have said. But perhaps not on the sides we'd expect them to be on.

Date: 2009-03-20 06:01 pm (UTC)At least Cortese added a bit of sinister to Ruby last night. That evil smirk when Sam was drinking the mother's milk? Give me a tiny, fleeting hope that character may have a use yet. GC still has to go though.

Now we apparently know why... but Dean is the alpha and omega of the Apocalypse? Really?
And he doesn't turn out to be Lucifer?I also didn't fail to notice the Castiel vs. Uriel brawl did seem to directly reflect Dean vs. Sam in "Sex & Violence". Cas vs. Uriel intervened by Anna, Dean vs. Sam intervened by Bobby. Although Cas in Sam's position with Uriel in Dean's. Uriel, the big Lucifer fanboy, while Dean represents...?
Although would be poetic justice for Uriel and his ilk. Shitting all over the "mudmonkeys", then their boy Lucifer turns out to be one? Yeah, that seems like something the writers would do. Would be a reflection of ITGPSW too. How those witches raised Samhain, only for one to turn on her sibling, than witchy herself getting her neck broken by the dearest, newly raised Dark Lord. A total Be Careful What You Wish For scenario. It really can't be Sam at this point IMHO. Sam is pretty much all set-up to have him taken down several notches by the end of the season, not have the most frightening power-up of them all.
Sam's on his way to a major fuck-up.
I think more than ever after last night Ruby has been screwing him over (and/or will turn out to be Meg). Sam's powers may be helping out for now, but his arrogance and utter lack of compassion / really skewed empathy? Yeah, Sam is going to get owned at the end of this season.
I also suspect Anna will either turn out to be in league with Ruby or (somehow) a personification of God. No middle ground.

Date: 2009-03-20 10:13 pm (UTC)I was wondering how the hell Dean would stop it all if he didn't have any abilities to even out the field. Maybe he jumps into the last seal (kinda like that bit in Buffy), and somehow comes out as Lucifer, lol. That's one way to stop the Apocalypse; not starting it in the first place since he likes Earth quite a lot. :P It would make for some very delicious irony.
And I can't wait until Sam is taken down a few...make that a LOT of pegs. He's too prideful, and that comes before a fall. Hopefully it'll be Dean totally PWNING Sam. :P I NEVER trusted Ruby, she better be a traitor. Anna...I'm kinda meh on her. Would be nice if she gave Dean some grace to even the playing field.

Date: 2009-03-22 07:32 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, I've got good money down on Dean really suffering for Sam's mistakes before any such revelation... which then would probably lead to the scary denouement in Dean's arc this season a lot of us are fearing. Sam would sort of deserve it though as you are so very right about him needing to get taken down a whole lot of pegs. No character can be as arrogant as he's been without a mighty bitchslapping headed squarely in their direction. Did you catch that smug look he threw at Castiel after he nuked Alastair? Oh Sammy, you are going to get bitch.slapped. Most likely by (a very frightening) Dean.
It would make for some very delicious irony.
Heh yeah, especially considering pretty much all the characters that are shitting on Dean the most this season are all in the pro-Lucifer camp (minus Sam although he may be without realizing it). Speaking of a whole bunch of other ppl in line for some bitchslapping (if Dean turns out to be their precious Dark Lord).
I won't mind Anna as long as she's not around much more and not around Dean. JM and JA had no chem at all. She was fine against Cas/Misha, but that doesn't mean I want to see her again.

Date: 2009-03-22 08:53 pm (UTC)Azazel was arrogant too, look what it got him. Ha, I'd love to hear Dean's "I told you so" to Sam. XD
Gah, I want to write fic for this Lucifer!Dean. I had something similar started before S4, actually. Tho with less bitchslapping, rather more crack.
But speaking of fic: "Light and Dark" http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3439113/1/
I quite liked this one, has a few details in common in S4, tho written quite a while earlier.
