The last ep of SPN is only getting more absurd every time I watch it. All the more reason to pretend it never happened.

From Aunty Mib on TWOP:

Anna sits up and says: I remember who I really am. I'm an ever so powerful Angel of the Lord who used to have a relationship with Castiel and used to boss around Uriel and I fell to Earth like a meteorite like in Stardust and I just want to fall in LOVE like on Wings of Desire and have sex like Titanic and did I mention that my name is MARY SUE.

I still can't figure out if they were really expecting us to take Anna's story seriously. I believe they were. *facepalm*

I honestly think the writers have some real, physical deficiency in their inability to write female characters with depth without screwing the pooch at some point. Look at the angels. Castiel? Awesome. Uriel? A dick, but still awesome. Anna.... magic angel tree, literally plummeted from the sky like some busted satellite when she "fell" (is Heaven on Mars then? Jupiter maybe? Are the writers Scientologists?) and a bloody fobnecklace (if Who's story was the Wings of Desire, SPN's "Heaven and Hell" was undoubtedly the City of Angels. The paltry, Americanized knock-off of a more dignified, poignant story).

Right now, I'm more hopeful then dreading the Lucifer storyline, as they've got 2 out of 3 stories in the angel mytharc right... and the fact Lucifer happens to be male. It's sad that if Kripke did go the Mel Gibson route and cast the devil as one of those sinful, unclean womens? The SPN writers would mess it up somehow.

Technically, I think Sam was ready to kill some angels because they were threatening to throw Dean back in Hell. We also know Dean is just about the most gratuitous whipping boy that ever was on television. I'm suspecting the big fracked-up w00bie believes he deserves to be in Hell, likely for what he did down there. Not necessarily for Anna, although she'd be just as good an excuse as any to get him thrown back downstairs. However, I'm so very much in agreement that all could have been done much better. Sera Gamble mentioned in some interview they wrote these two eps as if they were writing a movie... which only makes me think thank God SPN is a tv series, because it would apparently make a pretty crap cinema experience!

There was a tiny part of me hoping - with Frodo & Galadriel's light that was in my head thanks to Uriel's magic glowy necklace of angel grace - that Anna+grace would have went all "ALL SHALL LOVE ME AND DESPAIR" at Alastair, in proper all-powerful, scary, elf witch drunk off power fashion... but alas, just wasn't to be. She had to be little miss vanilla angel sue to the bitter end. Meh. Not shedding any tears she's off being emo in Heaven or like angel grounded or whatever daddy did to her once she got back.

Yes, that's a good point.

That's true also. Although, Dean seemed to be coming to terms with being alive again in "Monster Movie." I guess seeing Alastair again brought up all those painful memories of what he did in Hell.

Heheheh, me either!
