I suppose they went with the lesser of the evils? Although I hope Sam stocked up on that antibacterial soap, Listerine and maybe Sam's Club-size disinfectant wipes.
That heart monitor flatlined. Was still flatlined when Ruby was in her. That girl was and is dead.
Although it's possible the SPN writers are now bucking the trend of Sleep With Sam YOU DIE to Sleep With Dean YOU DIE. Angels killing Anna could be all a fake-out though. Considering how hard they were trying to push the Ruby Sympathy button this ep, it's possible it was to make us all teary when she gets tossed back in the hot box next week? Hence, the old trend stands! Of course, technically, she is already dead (EWWWWW!!!) Now where did I put that Kaopectate??
Maybe I'm hoping for a fake-out, Anna wasn't too bad where SPN female characters go, if sort of on the mousy/neurotic side, but then normal people tend to be thrust in the Winchester life of suck, horror and misery. She does have TK though, let her use it writers! However, that makes me think she's one of YED's Speshul Kidz and if that's the case, ups her chances for a two-shot only guest appearance.
Alistair was quite the scary mofo. Hope we see him some more. The actor was very good as well and I know I've recognized him from a few things.

Date: 2008-11-15 05:56 pm (UTC)I agree that Anna isn't too bad, but I think she's coming across way too innocent... and the TK powers? I agree with you, there's gotta be some YED blood in her... can't wait till next week! It'll be interesting to see next week the discussion between Sam, Dean, and the Angels over Anna. I really hope that there isn't a break between Sam, Dean, and Castiel. I still want semi-friendly relations there! :)
Alistair was awesome! He was very scary and played very well--I can't wait till we find out how Dean and Alastair are acquainted.

Date: 2008-11-15 09:04 pm (UTC)I admit, after a rewatch, I ended up thinking, "Ain't that sweet! The boys each have mirroring Mary Sues!" then realized I probably wouldn't be too upset if the angels did off her. I was also caught wondering if the innocence may partly be an act. A little too innocent, as you mention.

On the flip side of the coin, specs over at TWOP are mentioning Nephilim (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nephilim). Which, if that were the case, Anna would have angel blood in her, not demon. Although, in Nephilim lore, they weren't much better then demons in angels' eyes, so would explain Cas & Uriel's apparent near disdain for Anna en par to their Stink Eye at demon Ruby.

What I really want is Cas to defend the boys and Uriel gets pissy and kicks him out of the angel club. Then the boys make Cas honorary-Winchester. He's practically en par to Dean & Sam to me regarding my interest
infatuation, but then I'm an oddity as I didn't start really watching SPN until S4 so Cas came complete with the Winchester bros package to me.I can't wait till we find out how Dean and Alastair are acquainted.
I'm almost scared to find out, but then my mind might be jumping to paranoid because the guy playing Alastair happened to play a prison rapist in The Shawshank Redemption.

Date: 2008-11-16 02:30 am (UTC)I totally want to see Castiel take a stand for Dean and Sam.
Oh, so I know that Sam and Dean are still in the mindset of trust & save every human, but it is interesting that even though Castiel warned Dean that he'd have big decisions coming up (decisions so big and unpleasant that Cas feels bad for him!)... that Dean isn't a bit more wary of Anna. I can't wait to hear the conversation next week--I wonder if they listen to the angels at all?

Date: 2008-11-16 03:11 pm (UTC)In all seriousness and not even thinking about an actual Dean/Sam/Cas team, I wouldn't be surprised this may indeed happen sometime in the future. Angels don't seem to be particularly reasonable and when they purify, they go all out. He'd probably get his wings cut off or something.
Dean isn't a bit more wary of Anna.
If we run with the idea Anna is possibly conning them, she is working the damsel-in-distress angle for all it's worth. That would especially appeal to someone like Dean who is kind of a chauvinist (big strong man save the poor, helpless, pretty girl. Incidentally a pretty girl with freaky mind powers, not unlike Sam), but also dedicated his life to save people just like Anna caught up in supernatural terror they don't understand.
Sam does make a parallel between Dean and Ruby ("She said what you would have"), maybe there's also one between Sam and Anna?
I can't wait to hear the conversation next week--I wonder if they listen to the angels at all?
My guess is they won't and I'm leaning towards this time it being to their serious detriment, but then I'm currently in distrust mode re: poor, sweet, little victim Anna. I was saying on someone else's LJ that Anna reminded me a lot of Lori from "Hookman". Turned out it was Lori that had been - entirely unintentionally - controlling the Hook Man all along to punish those she (subconsciously or not) believed were sinful. Further, she'd been afraid she inadvertently summoned an avenging angel. Might Anna be (intentionally or unintentionally?) as culpable as Lori?
BTW, I'm sort of slow on the uptake, but going quickly back to the spec about Anna possibly being one of YED's psykids, I remembered the sulfur in the parents' house. Now I immediately thought that was from some demon hunting Anna. However, I suddenly remembered Ava could summon demons with her mind. Ava also started out genuinely innocent and nice with a perfectly normal life, but after she turned she'd been putting up a very good act right up until we saw her kill Andy. Maybe Meg's Demon took up where her daddy left off and she's working with Anna?
