Who's Mr. Smith stops being adick Lonely (Old Testament) God when he gains a new purpose?
Funny, that's pretty much what Sarah Jane did to the Doctor in "School Reunion", minus the memory wipe. Convinced him to keep on saving the Earth instead of the evil thing. K9 saved the day in the 11th Hour in that one too.
I have to admit, I have this sick fascination with possibilities of actually evil Doctor. However, temporary it would likely be if it did happen. He tends to teeter on the edge (or goes full on over it) in this regen with some quite frightening frequency.
Or maybe SJA is just hinting the Slitheen show up again. Eh.
