The whole thing was rather pedestrian in terms of characters wasn't it?
I'd call them more plot devices then characters. I don't even know why they were given any dialogue at all (especially if they're just going to hiss it out). Keep them like the Reavers or 28 Days Later zombies with a lot of roaring and grunts if they're going to be so... bestial anyway. But maybe that would have scared the kiddies to much?
Well, I can't believe the whole spaceship will just be forgotten, so the ship may be important in upcoming events. They must be.
Otherwise that's one ship that flew into major plothole limbo. I agree, that ship has to be going somewhere. I've heard... rumours about things, but not sure if they have any relevance to that particular ship.
Utopia? I have some thoughts on the matter, but I will not share them because they are rather out there and are possibly due to my lack of sleep.

Total sense. ;) Nothing really to add but ITA, although Tennant's Doctor can scare the bejesus out of me sometimes. The dude can invoke creepy/menacing like no other Doctor. Nine was so wounded when he turned menacing, I was never totally threatened... but Ten? Ten will cut you, then blow up your house (with your kids in it) if he doesn't like you/you threaten humans/the Earth/his companion. The end of FoB? *cringes* He's almost too easily provoked in ways.
Just watched the damn episode again for Crissakes)
The rewatch factor is a bit on the absurdly high side. I already know this is the disc of the dvds all be abusing like mad. Especially those last 10 min.
