I don't know how Who can come up with these absurd concepts...an ep where the whole premise is a traffic jam so bad it spreads out in decades and the monsters-of-the-week are probably some of the sillier looking in Old School Who, aka, the Macra (as you saw, giant space crabs). Yet at the same time have some of the most fantastic emotional resonance of just about any of the new Who eps. It's funny and I'd laugh if I weren't kind of teary ... STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT!!

Kitty-hybrids calling for their mama? Now that is just cheap. So so cheap (and making Ten and his hotness holding one of them MORE cheap!!) It's gratuitous and they should be FULL of SHAME! They need to keep doing that. Kitties and Hawt!Doctor holding them every ep!!!

There was something exceedingly funerary about the community hymn time and the deathly slow moving traffic. Which I suppose was purposeful. They're driving to their deaths and darkness because they can't leave the subcity (or Hell or Hades or the Underworld, whatever one chooses to call it... which makes it rather bizarre as BoeGod seemed to trap them in Hell to save them all. Paradoxal, isn't it? It took the DoctorJesus?? to bring them all out of Hell).

The Doctor and Martha ending up in almost identical situations in two different vehicles. With cute couples who have kids/are expecting. Is there Something Significant to that or is it just a way to parallel the Doctor & Martha's situations? Put them on equal footing re: Must Save These People And Here's The Reasons Why (they're overall good people & cute / have kids and thus need a better future than darkness and death by giant space crabs)?

Although should I be kind of scared that in New(x15) York, apparently Boe only could (cared to) save the British people? Suddenly I'm not sad at all! DIE BIG OLE FACE Rusty DIE!!! However! Did Rusty just kill Dubya by proxy with Ecstasy?? SCORE and *SNORTS*!! Rusty/Boe are forgiven!!

But seriously, did The Senate all die simulatenously cuz they had (not-so)sekrit junkie habits or are we crying foul? If we are saying it was foulplay... dude. Someone(s) just assassinated the ENTIRE New(x15) EARTH in Seven. Minutes. Bliss Virus = UBER Anthrax. Now who the hell is/are responsible for that? WHY?! Don't tell me it ultimately has to do with "You are not alone"... because that? It's just effing terrifying. Although it kind of sounds Rani-ish. She always thought the dinosaurs didn't live up to their potential / humans are evolution's wastes of time and so would be anyone covorting with them.

"You are not alone". Not Surprising At All as that was spoiled like a year ago ... it was always all about the consequences of what's Not Surprising that is the clencher and I CANNOT wait. "He was wrong", uh huh, sure he was Doctor. He's only like a billion years old and you're always right. Like you were about the Daleks all gone... oh look at next week's preview (and "Dalek" and "Parting of the Ways" and "Doomsday" *sighs*)!! Although just pondering the idea that the Doctor isn't alone? Imagine even one other someone out there with all that same bittersweet Gallifreyan nostalgia in his/her/their head... but with a serious dose of Strike Down Upon Thee With Great Vengeance on top of it? We've all seen what the Doctor is like pissed off, now what if that same Pissed Off is directed at him? Maybe one or two or a hundred times over? The Daleks instigated it, yes, but in the glaring omission of Doctor's Gallifrey musing to Martha (of how his homeworld was destroyed exactly)? Is this going to come back and haunt him, you think??

It's also interesting that BoeGod places himself on equal footing with the Doctor (we are the last of our kind) yet he doesn't either (the Doctor isn't the last of his kind after all). Not Surprising as I said, but still a bit of the "Whuh?" So... "god", but not necessarily "lonely" anymore?

I am left wondering though if there is some kind of harkening here to "Bad Wolf" and this being All The Doctor's Fault for his stepping on the butterflies? This is the world when he last went there it was a utopia (with a dystopia underneath involving evil Cat Nurses and human guinea pigs), but the order went to chaos after the Doctor but we're left to assume by "New Earth's" end it was a happily ever after (like in "The Long Game"?). But the advent of a new drug and virus that couldn't be controlled.... because of the lack of order/progress of the loss of the whizbang (EVOL) hospital? Not saying the Doctor shouldn't have liberated the guinea pigs, but is this another issue of him not sticking around to perhaps tidy his messes ("The Long Game") and it coming back to bite him in the ass ("Bad Wolf")?

That last scene at the end (when the hymn went from funerary to the Nine Choirs of Angels and I cried a little because I'm pathetic), with Martha cutting right through his bullshit and pretending and MAKES him talk and Tennant hits it out of the park harder than he ever EVER has before (Eccleston who?) and Freema is meeting him there? Made. Of. Win. DAMN YOU Rusty for making me want the ship!! Even if I know you're just going to stomp all over it because they always leave him!! ::hugs (smut) fanfic a little tighter:: WHY did you have to make Ten and Martha so awesome? Then make me want Ten/Martha, eh?! You KNOW you're just going to kill them in the end!! BAH!!

And those "Deadliest Catch" men of the future? Their jobs just got a whole lot harder!! BUT! (Giant space) crab legs night at "Red Lobster" EVERY night... and this is why The Doctor is Jesus.
