Ok, maybe not so much Barty (and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I do wish he'd have given the tongue a rest in GOF. Yes Mr. Director... he's oh so Slytherin and oh so Voldie's bosom buddy. See how serpentine he is with the tongue flickering!! TEH EVOL!!! Eh.)... but as The Doctor? Oh holy hell that man is guh (and I still haven't completely gotten over Nine, but... DT's pretty is definitely helping, particularly those freckles... and the sexspecs. Not saying CE wasn't attractive, because he so was, intense too. But DT? Freckles! And samba! And floppy hair! EEEEeeeee!!)
Hottest nerd ever

I suppose this is also my coming out post, but yeah... I've been possessed by "Doctor Who". Which would be about the twelve-thousandth fandom I've jumped on in the past few months (Firefly, SGA and Bleach... I'd say DW is in good company). I'd say it was the lull of giant heads in jars and Scottish ninjas that did me in... leather jackets, jumpers and pin striped suits don't hurt either, not to mention some surprisingly damn fine acting. Not to neglect Billie Piper, who was the bigger surprise amongst them (anyone that's seen "Jude" knows Christopher Eccleston has gravitas to spare).

I should say a few things ep2x02 related since it's that which has finally inspired me to come out (SO GOOD!!)...

Will this be the season of god complexes? It certainly looks like it's at a good start if that's the case. Hell, it had a running start back in "The Parting of the Ways", Massive-godlike-powered!Rose saved the Doctor from the "false god". We come to New Earth and Face of Boe cryptically mentioning a "lonely god" (seemingly directed at the Doctor). In Tooth and Claw the reference to a "wolf god" (lupus deus), he even had (bo staffing wielding kung fu) disciples! Speaking of "The Parting of the Ways", when the caged werewolf was getting all morbid blithering about how Rose "shines like the sun" (not verbatim) and the moon, was I the only one getting flashbacks of BadWolf!Rose during her godly soliloquy ("sun and moon, the day and night... but why do they hurt?")?

I also could swear Harriet Jones, PM made some "god" comment regarding the Doctor in TCN, but I could have dreamed that.

The werewolf CG was surprisingly scary. Scarier than anything I've seen on the big screen in recent years.

Looks like Queen (SO a werewolf!) Victoria has it in for the Doctor. Not that the Doctor pissing folks off is new or anything, but humans have giant lasers and whatnot now (When is "Torchwood" starting again?). They can also be considerably scary when they put their minds to it... or in it, the Heart of the TARDIS, for example. One might almost see those eagles circling around the Doc's liver, but he'd seem to give Rose (aka, one of those "stupid apes") fire even if it meant the inevitable wrath of Zeus (whatever that may be exactly, the eagle business sounds a bit messy). Even if she nearly burned up once already and he himself quite literally did burn. Is Ten destined for the same fate... all for (the love of) Rose?

The Face of Boe also has that 'message' for the Doc, which I'd seriously doubt is anything good. Particularly in that the two big times FOB has appeared was in the same eps alongside the two times a character named Cassandra has appeared. Bad vibes there. Speaking of bad vibes and FOB (non-)messages, I was reminded of FOB's message in "Tooth and Claw" with all of Queen Vic's dialogue about "messages from the Great Beyond". Prince Albert = the mostly extinct Time Lords? Message from the (dead?) Time Lords maybe? A warning?

Oh you must watch it. You get BBC, yes?

It was on from like the 60s to the 80s. Chris Eccleston and David Tennant are, respectively, the ninth and tenth incarnations of the Doctor. It's amusing though. Technically, these new series (started last year with Doctor #9, Eccleston) was actually the 27th season of "Doctor Who". Continued on from where it left off, more or less, from the last Doctor (#8, who wasn't in the actual series but was in a Brit tv movie based on "Doctor Who"). Tennant's Doctor #10 marks the 28th season (started officially earlier this month). Crazy, neh?

heee I've been around... just not enough time to comment/reply to my FL. Also the fact there's been no new "Bleach" is vexing... but I've obviously got (WAY TOO MANY) other fandoms distracting me (and you know, work and sleep and leaving the house and such).

oh, and if you are looking for a new addiction, may i reccomend Gintama? It's brill! hehheh.

Oh god dude... one thing I do. not. need. is yet another addiction! I can barely cope as is!

But Gintama is that good?

I have heard soo much about it, i just never watched it. I do get BBC, i'll have to give it a go one of these nights.

And, yeh, the fact that bleach is not one is vexing me too. Though, that's where GIntama filled the void and now i am totally hooked on that manga/anime. IT's like ruruoni kenshin meets cowboy bebop with a Cantebury Tales/Jonathan Swift subliminal backdrop. It's really great.

I don't watch or read much manga, because i am sooo bloody picky. But, this one is well worth the fandom. ^____^

I presume you're probably already in season 2 with access to BBC, but if the show ever starts up reruns... watch from the beginning of the new series (with Eccleston). David Tennant takes over the Doctor role in S2 and although he's very good (and pretty) in his own ways... Eccleston totally sucks you in. He's what got me into the series in the first place. Not so surprising if you've seen "Jude" or "28 Days Later", but omg, the man is crazy skilled (and, guh, hot, but not in the conventional way). He can do the whole goofy manic glee of the Doctor, but like the drop of a hat can switch on the drama... and he does it all so. damn. well.

Wow. Interesting. I think I'm going to have to sift through YouTube for this, even if just for a taste.
