POTC2 trailer & the Commodore

retro_eidasThe new hi-def POTC2 trailer is out and I was going through it scene by scene. Initially dismayed there was no Commodore love in it.
Although I remember him in all his (utterly sexy) prim & properness in the first POTC.
What the hell happens to him in POTC2 to make him look like this??
Being almost entirely unspoiled for the movies, this is just a random guess, but... methinks he gets lost at sea. Possibly presumed dead (while some new stuffed shirt, as seen in the trailer ["Jack Sparrow is a dying breed..." yada yada], takes up command). Of which Jack & posse stumble onto him on some deserted island or Norri made some deal with Davey Jones to spare his life while floating aimlessly at sea. I'm thinking the first might be more likely (and amusing), however, the Deal-w/Davey-Jones scenario could have it's merits. That's how I presume Bootstrap comes into the story. He was imprisoned by Davey Jones or something and Will/Jack bust him out.
Whatever the case, I'm glad to see there is Norri-love in the trailer ... even if he's all scruffy. Bonus, looks like he's also going to get some real action in this too. For whatever reason (hopefully not involving Elizabeth), he and Will are brandishing their swords (EEEEEEeeeeee!!!).
