Of course, chances are, JKR just ships them off to France or something and Fideliuses them. Then Hermione gets to spend her summers at 12 Grimmauld Place... with Harry. ;)
And now that we know she's almost 17, who knows what kinds of...knowledge...she could help him learn??:) yeah yeah I'm fantasizing there :))
I tend to agree that if JKR does kill off the Grangers she will do it off-screen, since we aren't really invested in them. Sort of the way she did the H/C kiss, but that was in reverse - so that we WOULD NOT be invested in it :D I've thought for a long time that the Grangers were cannon-fodder. If she did kill them off, how might that impact the story??
