Shocking. A post not about hot swimmers. Neil Gaiman has updated his journal with new images from MirrorMask. With Dave McKean's visual aide, this looks very, very cool. Seeing these Gaiman Alice in Wonderland-esque characters in full motion is going to be interesting (on the hinges of disturbing a la Gaiman). They should secure McKean for the "Coraline" movie too. I've read that book a couple of times and every time, it never fails to amaze me the dude has mastered writing something appropriate for kids but yet still sends a chill down your spine.

In other nerdy news, looks like Bryan Singer off X3 is official now. Not that that's particularly shocking, but... ::sighs::. There's always that little straggling hope. Paging Mr. Fincher, your director's chair awaits.

Is it wrong I still want to see Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow for entirely eye-candy reasons? I saw a trailer for it yesterday on Adult Swim and, maybe I'm just a sucker for the melancholytron filter and anything Fritz-Lang-ish / ultramodern... the movie visually looks very nice (allbeit a shameless abuse of green/blue screen as in nearly the *whole* movie was shot that way. The movie is CGI). Storyline? I've heard it's rather dry in that area, but ... I still want to see it. I'm not much of a Paltrow or Jolie fan, but I do still have some good favor for Jude Law. Anyone see Music from Another Room? It's very cheesy and sappy, but call me a pushover, because I liked it in that guilty Havana Nights sort of way.
