This is old news by now, but there's a new PoA trailer up at the recently PoA-ified Official HP movie site.. I had yet to see what Buckbeak was going to look like and they not only put him in the new trailer (looking mighty sweet I might add), but they've got two WPs of him (w/ Harry) as well. Nice. ;)

Needless to say, I'll probably be weeping fangirly tears watching PoA on the big screen. Alfonso not only rocks (I pretty much love everything he's done), but PoA is still my favorite book of the series. The movie looks amazing. It really has all the makings to be the best movie of the franchise. Then again, making a better movie than Chris "Home Alone" Columbus probably wasn't some laborious task for Alfonso.

In HP randomness, there are hundreds upon hundreds of HP theories floating around the net about a plethora of topics. Whether you've read the HP books or not, you've probably seen a couple. This was one of my recent favorites. However, it leans significantly towards H/Hr, just so y'all know. Which is probably why I like it. ;)

Having absolutely nothing to do with HP... but [livejournal.com profile] manada not only got to see "A Boy from Oz" recently, but also saw Hugh face-to-face. She has the pictorial proof. Lucky. LUCKY. chica.

I had a chance to see a bit of the trailer on telly, and I sort of watched it and sort of didn't - I couldn't decide whether I wanted to be spoiled for the moive or not. The Dementor stuff looks good. Bcause I was half looking away I only caught a glimpse of the Knight's Bus but I think I'm going to love it. (Nice icon.) The set design/backgroundy stuff are some of my favourite parts of the HP movies (so far.)

However I think my unease with the casting of Lupin (and Sirius) is returning. All my months of telling myself to keep an open mind about how they look wiped out by a trailer!

You have more self-control than I. Perhaps it goes without saying since I've made icons, but I've frame-by-framed it a couple of times now. Looks. so. fantastic.

I guess I'm not all that worried about Sirius and Remus because I do think Gary Oldman and David Thewlis have some talent ... however, the fangirly side of me is still lamenting they didn't cast them at least a little more attractive. Moreso with Sirius. When I think of Sirius, Gary Oldman really does not come to mind. Gary Oldman, although he can act, doesn't give me a sense fatherliness or warmth that I think Sirius should (eventually anyway) convey. Then again, "Leon" is one of my favorite movies so my opinion is probably skewed. Maybe he might prove me wrong... but he still doesn't look like Sirius. I don't think he ever will.

I don't know if it's self-control really, just ingrained spoilerphobia. I don't want to be spoilt. I love the feeling of being surprised, but it seems a bit daft to be uptight about it, much as with LOTR when I've read/obsessed over the source material. So I'm not that uptight (compared to other instaces in my life I'll not go into.) Or, in this instance self-controlled.

I know what you mean. It is HP after all, not something totally random like "Alias" (at least for me, I don't even care anymore when it comes to that show... which I should be watching now but... eh). However, I figured since I read the book like 15 times, I might as well jump headfirst into the spoilers. ;)

Alias is a good example of why I have this thing about spoilers. We're only now getting the start of season three here. I was inadvertently spoiled for two thrids of the Big Plot Twists at the end of season 2. Ok, so any spoiling I had for the last episode I watched is entirely my fault for a new-found obsession with Agent Weiss, but being spoiled for a tv show months in advance is not fun. Not that that's a erennial thing I'm bitter about, at all.
