DEPARTMENT OF MYSTERIES (A MUGGLENET Editorial Column) by Bob Sindeldecker: HBP PREDICTIONS
I'm sure many a rabid Potterphile on my friends list enjoys reading some random book 6 predictions as the next rabid Potterphile. Well, there are some lovely editorials by Bob Sindeldecker that I had the pleasure of encountering last weekend and, for those not yet familiar with them, I just had to share.

Of course, I probably also should include an advisory that they're particularly lovely if you lean towards H/Hr and keep an open mind (especially about some of the Ron speculations). I know not all of y'all have said leaning(s). I've also exchanged one or two e-mails with SeƱor Sindeldecker. He is very cool people and has some very intriguing ideas. Hopefully I can convince him to get an LJ so he can share his daily Potter zen. ;) heee

I do have thoughts in regards to the above editorials, but they'd be better with canon quotes and that's going to take awhile longer.

I also just felt like delurking in honor of POA's R1 DVD release tomorrow (WEE!). I'm so Cuaron's bitch. Although between that, the Spidey 2 DVD coming out on the 30th, ROTK:EE next month *and* Christmas shopping to boot? Who's going to be one broke hopeless nerd? ME! However, if I do get everything on my Christmas list? I'll be broke... but with a stupid grin on my face the whole. damn. time.

Yet another random fangirly entry.

STATUS OF X3 and WOLVERINE
Really, there isn't much status beyond what's already, more or less, self-explanatory. It will likely be about the Dark Phoenix saga. New characters will probably be introduced. Joss Whedon may be a top contender to be involved in some form, but folks shouldn't hold their breath just yet. However, Dark Horizons did post a few new bits about the "Wolverine" spin-off and that it's seemingly leaning towards an origin storyline. Hugh, Schuler-Donner and Benioff (the spin-off's writer) met and they were all apparently very enthused. Schuler-Donner also hopes for a sequel to the spin-off being about Mariko. Sounds intriguing. They do seem to have high hopes for the sequels... I just wish we knew more about X3. Within the past few months, THE WATCHMEN movie gained a director, lost him and has since gotten a new one (That's also scheduled for the Summer 2006 apparently, which will be sort of interesting if X3 still manages to somehow push out that same season too)... yet X3 is still in limbo.

SIN CITY
Am I the only one out there who kind of wants to see this? Not so much for it's PUNISHER-esque grittiness or who's in it... but the look? I kind of like that whole black and white with the single color accent thing. True this effect is straight from the comic, but still.

Here are some stills from the movie. I don't know, looks intriguing... even if I'm not the biggest Robert Rodriguez fan in the world. )

NEW YOSHITAKA AMANO COMIC, March 2005
This only really means anything to me since I'm about one of the only Amano fangirls that I know, at least on LJ. Amano's "Hero" is finally coming out. Am I fangirling? Oh yes. I own almost everything by him I can get my hands on that isn't exorbetantly expensive and within reasonable accessibility in US or Japan. He had a art exhibition in NYC and some of the (preview) images from this new comic, "Hero", were on display. I have some of the t-shirts from said event with the Hero on them (Shut up. They're cool. Seriously. The man has skills). I owe Amano a lot actually. He is the one who technically got me into Neil Gaiman. He did some of the art for Sandman which I got, but ended up loving the writing too. A bit backwards I realize, since it's usually Gaiman first and artists second. Still, it's reason to be grateful. Brilliant art and brilliant writing. He also did beautiful work on Elektra and Wolverine in The Redeemer. If I'm going to give Stephen "The Mummy" Sommers any props (or at least his costume design crew)... I do think he was (they were) taking a lot of inspiration from Amano's "Vampire Hunter D". At least he has good taste in design ... now if only he could *write*.

Random weird, but my brother sent this to me. Apparently it's an optical illusion. No matter which way you go, the dragon seems like it's not only looking at you, but his head is tilting with him. You have to print out the dragon and put it together. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but here's a vid of what it's supposed to look like. Creepy.
