Possible deleted scene for the DVD?
Mar. 11th, 2004 09:36 pmI admit I'm rather slow. I've been to the DD:HN website and I've seen all the stills, but I only realized now that I don't recognize this one from the movie.

This looks like it was supposed to be part of that cemetary scene where Xavier is telling Katey of how/why his father died. If I'm not mistaken, they're wearing the same clothes they were wearing in that scene and it looks like they're sitting next to a stone cross/headstone. Not one of the most ideal places to start making out (which could be why it was cut), but I guess they wanted to save the first kiss for the big dance contest. Heh. If this almost kiss is a cut scene, then I do hope they put it on the DVD. The chemistry is pretty much the focal point of what makes the movie a guilty pleasure and any extra lovin' they can include certainly wouldn't be uncalled for.

I want a commentary.
I think I'm going to go see it again on Sunday.

Date: 2004-03-13 12:30 am (UTC)I do have a feeling the DD:HN DVD will be out not so long from now. The local theaters are already down to two showings (at best) for it. Miramax is going to crank this out on DVD toute suite. I'd hope rather than believe they'll give it some good extras. Commentary would be nice. A big cheesy alternate ending where Xavier shows up on Katey's doorstep a few years later because Castro's revolution wasn't everything it was cracked up to be would be even better.

Didn't you say you were going to see it last weekend? Didn't you go... or you did and you just want to see it again? ;)
i've only seen it twice...

Like I really need an excuse. It's still playing at numerous times in various theaters over where I live, but as I live in an area with a large Hispanic/Latino community, the fanbase for it is larger and more prone to seeing it again. And I'm positive it'll show up at the dollar theater five minutes from my house once the DVD is out....*G*
I like your alternate ending - but really, everytime those two are together makes me happy and sigh in big shallow glee.

Date: 2004-03-13 05:31 pm (UTC)heee Ditto. Cheesy as it all was, it's called quimica and they had it. Not to mention, Diego can just sit there (reading José Martín or whatnot) and look smoldering hot.
I brought up the alternate ending because my cousin, who is about 17, saw it recently with some of her friends and they stayed through the credits hoping there would be more story after they rolled. lol
I don't know, this movie may never have the cult status the first DD did, but I think it's developed a cult following all by itself.
