My icon? Yeah, I think I'm sort of shipping them a little. Nothing spoily for the flist that hasn't seen tonight's eppy yet, but I've been picking up a vibe. Of course I'm guilty of the Strictly Professional UST vibe being one of my most. favorite. things. ever, especially when it's done right (Mmmmm Sapphire/Steel and Steed/Peel). They seem to be making teeny hints towards that sort of thing, but with lots more goofy, snark and pop-culty refs (the partners thing, Avengers homaging, ~~Batman/Robin the amiguously gay duo~~, etc). They're sort of like Four/Romana with more nerdy name-dropping, but if the Doctor was less ADD and more Captain America. I'm surprisingly shipping several pairs in this goofy, pop-culty show, which surprises me a bit. Although not invested in any one of them in particular, I'm just rolling with that stuff and absorbing the massive nerdiness and writing/acting awesome. Mmmmm pop-culty, quirky MiB goodness.

I also wonder where all the fic is or is that a bit of a faux pas in Middlefandom I'm unaware of (I know Javier Grillo-Marxuach does have an LJ, perhaps he frowns upon the fic)?

I'm sorta in love with Lacy/MM. They are adorkable. I've recently rediscovered my love of partners-who-are-really-just-best-friends-and-nothing-more though, so that could be affecting me.

Although from the previews for next week my mind could be changed. Zombies!

I haven't seen any fic, but someone on the comm whose name I can't remember right now mentioned it. It's not like a creator being aware and in contact with a fan base has ever stopped fanfic before. It must be hiding somewhere, or else everyone else is waiting for someone to start writing it.

I actually really like Lacey/MM too... and Lacey/Trevor The Sort Of Reformed Incubus, Dubbie/Tyler The Cute Part-Time Musician, Dubbie/Lacey/Noser (not in that way but the awesome, lyric-spouting best friends way). ~~Doorknob Andy can go right to hell though.~~ This is just one of those shows I'm all over the EO multishippy, which is funny since it's the quirky secret agents show I'm in for the LOLs... yet I'm shipping everybody. XD

The lack of fic, I'm wondering if folks are a little intimidated by the dialogue. It is a surprisingly clever show, despite all the goofy. MM's turns of phrase might also be hard to capture unless you've been exposed to a lot of old Dick Tracy audios or 70s Batman.

I can get behind shipping everybody. I love shows that let you do that. The Dubbie and Noser scenes are some of my favorites.

The dialogue is a bit intimidating. Are there any communities for fic? Maybe it's the classic if you build it they will come scenario? I think as long as you actually pay attention to the dialogue then fic could be written.

Partner in a pretty dress + secret agents + tango? Dude. That's like classic partners with UST ritual that is.
