oh. my. damn.

There's a new "Golden Compass" trailer out.

Can this be out now, pls??

*flails*

I'm still in disbelief this is from the same guy who directed "American Pie".

And I don't care if it's quite obviously LOTR-homaging (HALO THAR Saruman!), I LUVS IT!!

I can't wait, either. I'm almost finished with Subtle Knife and just adore the books.

Also, I love that psyco Lord Asriel and Daniel Craig playing him doesn't hurt, either.

These books are so win, srsly. I keep telling myself to pick up TGC again for a re-read prior December.

Daniel Craig won me over after I saw Casino Royale, he does have a bit of that hard / heartless bastard quality to him which is Asriel. Maybe it's the Manc accent? Too much Gene Hunt for me I think!

Not to mention he and Nicole Kidman will do that love-hate passionate kissing to great hot effect...

They were in a movie together recently which didn't do so well, although haven't heard about their chemistry. I hope it's good! Those two are hot hot HOT in the books. Bastards, but still hella hot. ;)

Oooh, Sam Elliott is perfect casting for Scoresby (my favorite character). And I was skeptical about Daniel Craig as Asriel, but not after seeing a bit of him in action.

I'd actually been thinking Sam Elliott right along (not just because I simply don't know that many Texas personalities. It was going to be between him and Dubya, so of course Sam is going to win). You know Jacobi is in the movie too, y? *luvs* Not that his movie career is necessarily a selling point (he was in "Underworld: Evolution" too), but... Jacobi. *very much with the hoping this movie is good*

He is? I didn't see his name at IMDB! *squees* Who's he playing?

One of the head honchos of the Magisterium.
