HP squeeage abounds

First of all, JKR has just announced on her site that HBP's publication date should be announced within the next 24 hours.

That's a whole lot of Happy Christmas right there, but WB also apparently decided to compound the squee with new GOF production stills. These are official movie pics, not the spy stuff taken clandestinely on site by sneaky fans with telephoto lenses.

One of which is Harry and Hermione looking concerned. They're so purty... even with the angsty faces.

I assume this is before or during the First Task? It's possibly the Quidditch World Cup as well. Harry and Hermione helping Mr. Weasley put up the tents or something. ;) Although it almost looks like Hermione is there to confess her sins. "Bless me Harry, for I've sinned." My mind is taking that to all kinds of obscene places.

The other is Harry and Ron in their dress robes. Ron's are appropriately ghastly. And can I say, Dapper Dan indeed. That boy cleans up very nice.

Dude. Those robes are indeed very horrible. He looks like a gay, colorblind pirate. Is he going to tear off all those ruffles like he did in the book... or is he just going to have to suffer?

Well, looking at that pic with Dan and Rupert, knowing about the Yule Brawl, why do I expect this will appear in the movie soooo ridiculous that Ron starts to whine about Krum? Everybody looks lovely just Ron looks uhm I really shouldn't say how and starts to whine, I tell you there is nothing romantic by that. Rather as if the romantic tune is interupted by Ron. lol I know R/Hr shipper won't like GoF-Movie how they like the books.

Aw. I don't know about that. There will probably be plenty in the movie that will make a lot of shippers happy, whether R/Hr or otherwise. Considering Mike Newell's more frequented genre, he'll probably embellish the romance stuff (or romance-comedy stuff) much more than it already is in the books. Of course, that's kind of been the habit of all the movies so far. The movies have consistently been more suggestive with all the characters - mainly the Trio. Partly why I'll always love Alfonso Y tú mama también Cuaron ;).

I always figured the filmmakers were going to do the Yule Brawl scene (much in thanks to Ron's woe-be-gone robes) sort of romantic-comedy anyway, even before Newell signed on. I just hope Newell doesn't mess up the non-romance stuff (the Tasks, the big confrontation at the end, etc etc).
