I did like Rose moreso with Nine than Ten, but that's another long post altogether, but I know what you mean. I also relate to Martha more. I suppose there is a little of Rose and Martha in me, but there is more of (college grad, older, out-of-parents-clutches) Martha than Rose. Rose just always seemed so... young. Which was a bad thing perse and was a good contrast to the war weary and battle-scarred overly!emo Doctor, but to me, it got a bit treaded. Especially when Rose had become more of The Girlfriend than The Companion. It's almost like she had no character of her own apart from her attachment to the Doctor (which Rose herself had all but admitted more than once). Martha is smarter, more mature and it comes out in her assertiveness, I think she's going to be an excellent foil for Ten. Moreso still as she was cast on the strength of her chem with DT. Unrequited yet flirty, a companion but one I don't think will let him get away with everything no matter what she might feel for him ... Ten/Martha is going to be an interesting relationship to watch unfold.
