I decided to get caught up on some e-mail while LJ was down for the count. My brother sent me a bunch of random links, of which I'm going to share because I like scaring my FL. ;)
Admittedly, this is partly a gratuitous post to show off my new Ring 2 icon a1ant (who runs one of the best X-Men Film fansites out there, next to![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
devildoll of course) made me. Isn't it wicked cool? Now onto the linkage!
I'm not much of a gamer. However, I am starting to get the impression that the game industry is taking over. Game trailers are beginning to look better than movie trailers. My brother sends me this link to some trailers of this PC game called F.E.A.R.. From what I can tell, it's like Tom Clancy meets *insert random Japanese horror movie title here*. You'll know what I mean if you watch the vid clip. I watched the 73.2mb clip (since LJ was down and had the time to wait, the 3.6mb clip is meh). Like I said, I'm not much of a gamer... but footage like that make me want to be. Dude. That is some freaky shit... and I love it.
Going back to The Ring 2... those trailers are looking quite intriguing. I've seen the Japanese sequel to Ringu and although it wasn't that great, I do have higher hopes for the remake. I liked The Ring more than Ringu (and by saying that openly I probably just got excommunicated from the Asian Horror Fangirl Club, but whatever). I preferred the ambiguity in the American version (also, pretty Martin Henderson in it doesn't hurt). Although Ringu was also very well-made, I think it delves a little too much in the mystical side of the story - Sadako's origins, yada yada. I'm hoping I have the same experience for The Ring 2 since the original Japanese version can be improved upon. I also like Naomi Watts. Who, IMO, is nearing the status of Cate Blanchett (but not quite there) on the cool-Australian-import meter. She needs to get cast as Emma Frost in the next X-Men movie... IF it's ever made that is.
